I would actually rather have both of those two sooner than any of the 3 in the assault poll

W-what assault poll?

PGI's polls seem impossible to find.

Thing is, do we really need any MORE heavies?
The queue is infested with them already, regularly the most queued up for class.

So you want a bigger but ground-bound Quickdraw instead.

Dummy.

JJ are overrated. An alpha of 40 is more effective then an alpha of 30.

Have fun overheating. Alphaing 8 MLas is just about the dumbest thing one can do.

JJs are also getting buffs BTW.

Still not works with my playstyle, my 8 ML battlemaster is doing just fine. I can manage the heat just great. I have no intrest whatsoever in a Quickdraw MK 2

no, an 8 ML Black Knight would be an over-sized Firestarter or undersized Battlemaster, not a Quickdraw

I guess we get both, the poll was just to decide which comes first.

The vote difference was 5, FIVE, votes. As far as I'm concerned they both should be added at the same time and before the Assaults in that previous poll.

It just goes to show the love for Heavy chassis and the lack of representation in the variety available. By this point in the Battletech universe there are tons of chassis and sadly due to production limitations of game development (in addition to over 1000 years of Lore development and manufacturing content) we have only a small fraction of the existing mechs.

tbh, in an decision like that TT sytle brings the solution:

1-3 BK,
4-6 Hopper

role that dice.

#votegate
PGI artificially inflated the votes because they had already started on the Grasshopper!

I think PGI is in an awkward place on this one. The poll is so close, and has been so close, that it's a clear draw. Whatever they decide, a segment of the community is going to be disappointed and a small vocal group is going to raise hell.

I encourage folks to read the poll thread and see what it tells you about the community. Players are coming at this from a lot of different perspectives, and whatever perspective you hold personally shouldn't be projected on the problem as a whole. Some of the perspectives I've seen in the poll are:

- My sense of mech aesthetics is very important to me
- I have fond memories of TT or of the MW games and that nostalgia is important to me
- I am very focused on game mechanics and the current meta and how a mech fits into that is important to me

There are more but those seem to be some of the most common. None of those perspectives are wrong or less valid in an absolute sense. Somebody with more time could probably come up with a Myers-Briggs style personality matrix for MWO fans out of that thread.

PGI will make the call using their best judgment, and all that means in the big picture is one of the mechs will come out earlier than the other.

I still say PGI should just give in to the inevitable and give all players named "Dawnstealer" a Hatchetman (along with melee abilities). Seems fair.

They can bring the Guillotine - a SL Mech with JumpJets - and Clan Boys will get the Guillotine IIC (well that won't be a good idea)

The Failhopper won?

BS.

NEITHER of these mechs were going to be competitive try hard mechs. The BK at least was and is Cool.
