Elited direwolves are actually pretty agile. You have to be in a locust or spider or something to stay out of their field of fire.
It's the whole 'this mech sucks without even basic masteries' thing.

Dire Wolf should get a +5% max speed quirk on the prime left torso (the one with 1 missile launcher)
Currently theres NO reason to use that side torso and a speed quirk would make it a little more appealing.

At face value I would agree, BUT we have to remember that the current "competitive" player meta build is 6 ERML + 2 ERLL + 2 Gauss...which can all be mounted in the arms. The Prime LT itself is pretty much pointless right now, but you'd end up unintentionally buffing the mech's best loadout.

Clan Gauss is a seperate issue entirely though. Clan gauss needs a nerf because its outright better than inner sphere gauss.
Clan weapons are supposed to be "equal but different" for the most part. The autocannons and LRMs burst/ripple fire. The lasers have longer duration. But for whatever reason clan gauss has no such downside.
So IMO give the Dire Wolf a speed bonus on the prime left torso and nerf clan gauss down to the level it *should* be at.
Following the same logic used to balance other clan weapons... clan gauss should do less pinpoint damage than the inner sphere gauss. So clan gauss should have its damage lowered to 12-13 in exchange for weighing 3 tons less.

The Dire Wolf is too fast IMHO considering how small the maps are. The Dire Wolf is usually in firing position before the two sides meet in all but the largest of maps (or the maps with hindering terrain).
Speeding them up would be an "I Win" button to the team with more of them.

Its not. In fact a lot of the time if you rush the enemy deployment zones you can kill straggling dire wolves. Especially on small maps like river city.
