Re: the high dollar prices, I think you have to remember that MWO's playerbase is a bit older than that of most games. I don't know the exact numbers of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if the average active player age is somewhere around the 30s/40s. You know, the people who grew up with Battletech and Mechwarrior games and play for their love of the genre/franchise, rather than wanting to play MWO specifically. Being older, we generally have more money to spend, and therefore don't mind the higher prices as much.

And as long as you can reasonably expect a similar game experience without spending money, that's not really a problem for me. And mostly it isn't. I like playing this game, I don't set myself goals for what I want to buy, I just get something whenever I see something I like and I've accumulated enough c-bills through regular play. There have really only been two times the difference between paying and "grinding" bothered me.

One was right at the beginning, when struggling to outfit those first few mechs, being forced to play with what I could recognise as sub-par builds and failing because of it, which also meant lower earnings and therefore more grind. Having only four mechbays felt really cramped as well.

The other time was the release of the clan mechs. Not only because some of them are blatantly more powerful than IS mechs, while being only available for real money (the Mad Cat still isn't available for C-Bills!), but also because they simply provide a different kind of experience, which for quite a long time non-paying players were locked out of completely.

Lmao it's so messed up to the point that if you use consumables you'll potentially be making a negative amount of money in a match.

earnings seem to be all over the place, to like EARNING A TON to pretty much nothing at all

So like it should be? If you screw the pooch you should lose your shirt and if you hit all the goals you should make a fortune. Working as intended.

Those who have banked up premium time can look forward to banking more if you are looking to grind cbills

Yeah, if you have premtime, keep it banked. It's not worth using it now, let alone buying more.

Even though overall is lower, you can get these, which were not possible before.

I used to have games and payouts like that and more. I think I hit 500,000 once in the old system. (Once, with PT, in a Hero). Not often, but I had them.

Also, XP for that game seem low by at least 500.

I was excited, but now not so much.

Still need to confirm though, power is out here...

And right when i need to grind for storm crows...

... Anyone find the potential economy hit to have suspicious timing? *tinfoil hat doff*

P.s. on the last earning system you could hit 300k, it was just really hard.

Just want to add in here, with the new rewards system, it seems CBills may be in better shape overall. Bad games are punished a bit more, but a good game can be very rewarding. I mostly worry about new players.

Don't worry. The immense grind requirements, high costs for everything, lack of documentation, huge money costs for packs, gold mechs, and generally aloof playerbase ensure we'll never have new players, for any reason, so there's no reason to feel sorry for them.

Mech Packs and gold mechs have little impact on new players, and I don't think you give the player base the credit it deserves. But yes, the new player experience is certainly lacking.
