I dont get one thing. Every assault I scream not to shoot the last enemy and go cap. And in those barely 25% games people do it, that last tard just comes in (usually light) shooting everything untill he dies. For today and yesterday in my games only it would be like 40% points gone.... (counting only games that make it possible to cap - stomps).

Not to mention tards who go and HAVE TO KILL dc guy, instead collecting points.

Well 11.2 x .45 is 5.04. Then 11.2 minus 5.04 is 6.16, the price per mech. Times that by 3 and I get 18.48. That is my math whats yours?

edit@bront

Doh. I need to check my math. (45% discount does not mean 45% pricing)

It ends on Monday morning "PGI patch hour".

If the thing extended a day, I don't think it would help much, but it would close the gap quite a bit based on the projections.

For instance, if PGI changed the scoring and/or incentives once coming to work on Monday and analyzing.. it is possible to create a "mad dash" to hit 50% on the last day.

It's an opportunity, but I doubt PGI would capitalize on it.
I keep seeing us ending near 350,000 and 360,000, so excending it a day we should be able to hit 450,000. It would make it exciting.

Imho every Player who wants a SHD does have a SHD after the many months this Mech is in the game - is it already a year since the Phoenix Pack was released?

PS; I guess that the average per Player is between 4 and 5 matches in a hour and imho we had ~500 matches per hour in the peak times.

I still don't have a K. I'll try to get one.

I just think the incentive to hit the 450,000 mark is kind of lacking. The 250,000 mark is so much more obtainable and is very near the top in terms of reward. Now if they offered a free mech or suite of mechbays(3-6) to all who participated at the 450,000 mark I think we would be further along, cause more players would be encouraged to participate since they get free stuff.

For players that already got the Crows and Shadowhawks there is no carrot to chase except cheaper mech bays. So the incentive to participate for those players is not really there.

Hopefully if they do these in the future they add a carrot at the end of the stick to get players playing.

absolutely agree. There's no incentive to put in the effort for the extra 200k points when it's just an extra 5%

well its more cbills for the kill rather then the win, about 2.5-5 k cbills per mech killed not to mention the damage you done and components maybe as high as 15k for that last kill and since thats the case can't blame ppl for the last kill

Not true. Winners get salvage bonus, and the objective win bonus is more than the value of most single mech kills. Particularly in conquest.

QFT - but I guess people do not know this. Jump in game and shoot everything is easier than reading the forum...

PGI should note that Assault mode would be a LOT more FUN if the map had proper forts, spaceports, fortified drop ship landing zones, royal palaces to attack. Not some dorky looking mobile communications truck parked on a side street or behind some rocks with some portable turrets tossed about.

As for conquest, its just a game of musical chairs with mechs involved. Just how we pump spaceship fuel while fighting in our mechs is just beyond me. I could understand destroying the well heads or defending them.... but not the run around cap thing.

Nice PGI, a community event! That's pretty sweet! I have to say, you keep on impressing with these weekend events. I think that last weekend's events are still my favorite ones thus far, but this weekend's event is a close second. Since I already have the Stormcrows, there's not much benefit to me from this event, but I like the precedent it sets and really look forward to seeing similar events in the future. Good job and keep up the creativity! :)

The current trajectory is a bit closer to 100k points per day. Current score as of 12:43PM EST (almost 2 days worth) is 208430. We're on pace for 300k by the end. It's arguably a far cry from 450k, even if we extend a day (it'll project to 400k, unless something dramatically changes).

So a little after 1300 EST there is just over 209,000 points after 48 hours of play and 24 more to go. It looks like we may end up with about 315,000 points. After the last few weekends with the challenges or the tournaments we needed an easy weekend without individual pressure.

I do like the community achievement with rewards to everyone. Especially the newer players that can purchase a shiny new green mech to run around in and us to .........

I have been seeing and reminding people to leave that last mech standing, maybe with one leg no arms, but standing. So some people are taking this seriously. Even if I am not going to buy a mech bay or mech it is for everyone else.

45% discount is almost at hand, nice! Thanks, PGI, for creative approach, now I really hope we will have similar events for Timber Wolf and Warhawk c-bills sales start. Let other people grind more to allow me to buy them cheaper :D

Let's go :)

lol, made my day :) nice u-turn!

I like the idea of this event! Looking 4ward 2 my SHD-2D. Then I'll own all 5 of them =) jepee

Unfortunately I screwed 10pts already because I killed the last disco mech in assault, not thinking of the bigger picture... Damn tunnel vision. Thanks to my team for not bashing me!

So, from above stated numbers comes a question for math experts...

How many virtual servers PGI runs (minimum) ?

Is matchmaking waiting time a joke with players nerves?

(I know easy trick to short waiting time but I am afraid to say, dont know if it is against game owner policy...)

1525 Central, 2025 Z.

TOTAL POINTS: 230,180

Looks like 45% is a lock.

The 50% goal was always a test to see if the players would change their ways, and move to mode play instead of deathmatch. PGI got it's answer.

Well, telling some group that every one and all of them should do something better means that 90% guys will continue to do what they think best for them, thinking someone else will do it.

Hope that now PGI got it served and finally change game modes.

And that is the heart of the matter PGI.

This is a nice event because it will give lots of clan mechs to free to play folk. But if you do this again please offer a reward at least equal to half the discount to people who already have the mech you are putting on sale.

If you want people to do 200,00 more points worth of work you need to give them a better reward for doing so. I don't mean to be rude but for that much more effort I would have expected a 65% sale.

On that note let me say thank for you the 3x 45% off clan mechs.

Honestly, if that 5% was some sort of test on the part of PGI, it wasn't well thought out. 5% is a terrible reward for all the matches you'd need to play to go from 250,000 to 450,000 and the change in game mode behavior (most people assume they earn more buying anhillation, so thats what they do). A 5% difference in discount for the Stormcrow is 500,000 C-Bills, which honestly isn't that much in comparion to how much you'd need to play. If it was something more significant, say, mechbays, then I think people would push for it more. Even then, I doubt if there's even really enough players that view the weekend challenge goals that even if every one of them changed their playstyle, that we'd score enough points.
