If more players would try to play assault and conquest by capping and taking the base if they can pull it off, even it means leaving one or two alive on the enemy team instead of just killing them all, we might just have a chance to get the 50% off. From what I have seen and other are saying, seems many just can't grasp the idea of capping just even for this weekend instead of killing all mechs to end the match.


Oh well, I just don't see us getting the 50% off.....maybe it was set at 450000 knowing it would take the player base more 20 point wins then 10 pointers to achieve it.

well, if everyone clicks off the one mode that doesn't pay as much, and makes sure they cap to win every time instead of killing all mechs, that would be a 50% increase in points. I understand we don't know the numbers of the matches played, but given the stance on pilots in games I have dropped, 95% don't care, they just want to kill all mechs and end the match. So this might get us the 33% needed if people play to get the max points every drop. I don't see it happening

ending the game faster may have its merits 5 minutes or less matches instead of a 15 minute tie.
with about a 10 game avg for 24 players 10 minutes for search times an hour...
maybe better to do solo runs more rather than group runs due to the mm search times for group which may take minutes to get 1 match.
so far every solo match up gets me 1 minute or less search times

As of 1AM-ish EST, we have 59550 pts. This is 12 hours running.

Projected score would be effectively 357300, which is @ the 45% mark... a bit less than 100k needed to reach 450k.

I don't think this can get any better.

at the time of writing this is 65,015 and thus a 30% discount.

i guess someone only read what they wanted to read then the post incorrectly. It's a community event, not a personal event.

An such since i need 3 storm crows i love the fact it's basically at a buy 2 get 1 free discount already.

If you want to help the cause, type into all chat or team chat to remind people of the challenge and try to go for base cap

So here is a little nice piece of doom.. simple calculations shows that to achieve 50% we need 18k unique players to do 10 drops a day in assault\conquest. Think about it only 18000 players playing about hour and half a day. now go check total score.

Wouldn't it be better if we did a 24 by 24 hours evaluation? This way we can see a bigger picture of say, active players of "Americas", Europe+Africa, west Asia and East Asia+Australia+New Zealand...

I hereby predict we will end the challenge at 390k. So close and yet so far...

Achieving 50% discounts will not happen. I realize a good number do not care, some of which already have said mechs and others have the usual "can't be bothered" attitude (yes some still jumping with their ppc/ac5 highlanders in private matches).

So, we are at 25% of the time (18/72 h) and by 80.000 points... so..

- With this "speed": (72 h = 320.000 points,) the Sales off will be just*: 45 %

- If we will reach the 50% off ... we need a speed of 155 % ( = 1.5 times more matches)... (So, looks like the 50% is screwed...)

Well... the schedule says Stormcrows aren't available for CB until the 28th of October. The sale will end the 24th.

If that's the case, great! I was looking at a pinned post in the Battlemechs forum that said the 28th. But if the Adder came out for CBs on the 7th, I'm wrong and it's the 21st.

Yep, I sure do remember it. I only gave myself 2 hours to complete the conquest one, I dropped my last drop 5 mins before the challenge ended and had a score of 164. My last match which was started before the cut off I scored 42 points, and took top score for the match. It didn't count the last match, and I missed out on the free cockpit wishbone finishing that part of the challenge at 97% :-(

Yeah, notice in the pin that it skips from Adder on October 7th to Stormcrow on October 28th. Stormcrows should very much be available for C-Bills on Tuesday.

Personally, I'm more looking forward to the Mechbay sale. I only have about six open ones left, and I need at least one more mech to have a third for Atlas' to elite, so really five. Even at 45% off, you can get 18 mechbays for 3000 MC ($14.95)

Honestly i do not feel any event inspired motivation to play - i mean i am an IS-Player and make the IS archenemies get something cheaper...i am not thrown out with the bathwater

Mechbays are going on sale, and so are Shadowhawks. Great opportunity to get a 2K if you haven't. Additionally, the 5M comes with an XL275, which costs about four million C-Bills, as well as Endo-Steel and Double Heat Sinks. Assuming we reach 45% off, it'll cost as much tricked out with an XL engine, DHS, and ES as much as any of the other Shadowhawks cost normally. You've already got the 5M, but its a great opportunity for anybody else to grab one.

Edit: Additionally, if you're the type of player who doesn't sell off mechs and generally upgrades them all, the 5M is a great deal because those DHS and ES amount to 2.05 million C-Bills, and all of the other ones on sale for about 2-2.5 million C-Bills will cost about the same once upgraded with those two, making the XL engine free. If you don't want another Shadowhawk, or have no interest in the chassis, there's no point in buying the 5M, but if you want to master the Shadowhawk, now or in the future, the 5M is a fantastic deal.

Personally, I'm getting myself a Stormcrow, a 2K if I have money left over, and a ton of mechbays, as I think this would be the third time ever that they've been on sale and it'll less than $1 for each of them.111
