I like all the reward coming one after the other during the battle.

It give me... I don't now, the impression of really doing something.

My Timberwolf had a great strike of flank, lance formation, etc etc.

I'd say that the highs got slightly higher, and the lows dropped sharply. If you lose a lot, you'd better not be using consumables, or you'll wind up losing money.

Oh very true, as said im a really bad medium mech pilot. But before I generally tagged around 45-55k, and at least over 100xp, now (though its only two matches) I was down to 34, and 33k respectively.

However in my Raven I went from 100k or so on a win, and 60-70k on a loss, to 145k and a 125k...big jump. Though those games went better, I was with my lance, getting a constant scroll of rewards because the team was doing well.

When it falls apart now...man you get chump change. Id hate to be the guy using up a coolshot and arty on that. Ouch.

Not saying thats a bad thing, just an observation. If you dont do well now, you seem to have gotten the shaft. Doing well seems to be on par or better. Which is as it should be.

They definitely dont need to nerf the payouts imho. Perhaps though they should have lights and mediums not be able to protect lights and mediums and make that the sole realm of heavies and assaults, however give lights and mediums protection bonuses for protecting heavies and assaults. One had washes the other.

Ill take my Banshee out and see how that goes. The Raven was a cbill printing press. Not extreme, even without premium, but clearly we were rewarded for playing the way a light should be played and doing well as a whole team.

Cadet bonus aside, I don't think they will fair well at all. From what I'm seeing, the grind just got worse for new players.

The rewards are great for those of us that understand the reward system, but for a new player they are much more complicated.


It is a players retention problem, you need to keep new players if you want the game to last. Placing extra burden on them could not be the best idea. There should be a guaranteed lower limit for cbills.

Did I misread? Wasn't the statement that you need at least 2 weight classes difference for protection bonus hence Lights getting Bonus on Heavies and Assaults and Mediums on Assaults only?

As a new player, (about a month or so) I played one game post patch, a loss, made the least amount of c-bills I ever have. And I've had way worse losses. The rewards are obviosly MUCH lower. It was brutal to get credits before the patch, now it's just unbearable.

I didnt notice that ingame, in my Raven I was protecting other lights and mediums. In my Shadowhawk I protected mediums. Didnt see any others and havent tried heavies and assaults.

Try working with the new reward system. Stick with your lance, if they flank, go with them. Let us know if that makes a difference.

I'm worried for the new player base.

I have been playing spotter scouts a lot lately, so I love this idea....but I am also getting a bad feeling right now that everybody is going to start packing a TAG in order to farm- especially because of some of the payout nerfs they have written into this deal.

After comming out of a loss sreak i have to say that loss now pay less, If win pays more then everything is cool.
I beleave they shoulden't have nerfed the Kill/Assist rewards though

I've only played a little but so far the rewards seem a lot lower on average.

I think part of the issue is that it rewards lights but has taken away from the heavies who didn't really need their rewards lowered. I got much higher rewards in lights than heavies now, but mostly because the heavies get less, not because the lights get more.

It is of course very early to judge.

gotta give thumbs up for the new rewards....it really is like getting achievements every match. I almost look forward to reading the stuff on screen when it pops up. I got 300K in a medium but was using Champion Mech and have premium time.

Speaking of Achievements, these need to be updated and added to....

Played two matches before server went down. Both were wins using Centurion AH. 60k and 120k c-bills were awarded (before +30%). Seems to me that the teamwork rewards are minor, almost insignificant, and if you're not [ALIVE] in the mechball of death rolling over your enemies, then you're going to receive less c-bills per game, win or lose.

Haven't played enough matches to form a solid impression, but initial experience appears to be a c-bill per game reduction, even more so for the losing team. I say this because the c-bill earnings at a first glance may appear to be similar than before if you are in a stomp game because that second win netting 120k was 12-2 (3 kills, 6 assists, 400+ dmg). However, most games don't go so well for everyone so I'd call it a c-bill nerf.

Yeah im definitely making more for wins and less for losses. That seems fine. PLEASE GOD dont make anything worth less cbills. Its fine, or it needs to be buffed in some areas by new rewards aimed at the problem.

Some casual observations:

* Lights that play well, see substantial increases
* Solo kills are where its at. 15k off the bat ontop of every other bonus.
* Mediums are at a distinct disadvantage in the cbill gaining arena
* Sticking with your lance is a great earner over the course of the match, and easier as you lose lance members
* losses where you dont get to do much, are much lower in return
* the mechball is the best way to get paid
* those who 'get paid' are seeing a pretty nice bump
* those who dont really 'get the meta' are probably getting paid less

Just from forum posts and personal experience thats how I feel about it.

Im a big fan. I do think mediums may need to be a thrown some specific reward. and lights wll see increased pay across the board when they play well. Which is exactly what you want to help incentivize.

That's the thing, these rewards reward different behavior. I would expect there to be a big difference until people start playing differently. Hopefully the new way makes for better matches.

This is amazing!

I just had a good game, but we lost. The new rewards gave me a very nice amount of xp and cbills anyway. Feels much better than before.

This is a mediocre performance in a Catapult C4 with TAG and LRMs. Between this match and the match before I now know... not to pilot my piece of crap Catapult anymore. Note XP was doubled for first victory of the day.
