i am still trying to figure how to earn the biggest rewards but i have to say it makes me think of whats still missing in MWO like in game comms so you can ask the 2 guys in your lance running off by themselves 'where the f*** are you going?' its hard to get teamwork going in this multi-single player game thats been live for over a year...(i play with a team but the rest of our team isnt in our 3rd party voice comm channel)

lobbies and comms are much more important to this game and totally lacking

ignore for some its the 2nd cbill nerf theyve implemented...

I've been making between 20,000 and 30,000 more C-bills each match, including the ones I lose. Frankly, I'm quite happy with the new system and think it's one of the best patches PGI has ever provided.

Try staying with your group and fighting together as a Unit. Even in the Pugging queue, I'm seeing an improvement in the overall match quality as Pugs fight more sensibly so that they can earn more money.

So, basically, you are correct; learn to play and don't QQ. ;)

If you read page 6, then you will see that my second night went much better than the first. After a very helpful exchange with Lord Scarlett Johan, I modified a bit the way I was fighting. This advice and the blessing of the MM made wednesday much more profitable. Today's hotfix should help make those days where the MM hates you much more bearable as well.

Also, when comparing earnings people should always use the base reward for comparison. Everybody gets the base, not everyone runs a hero and premium. The base is a line item in the list. Just some advice to help make accurate comparisons.

Yeah, well, this topic wasn't worth reading six pages worth of posts. Two was enough.

Glad your second night went better. :)

When comparing matches, I was referring to my personal averages. I have seen those increase since the patch. The bases are simply a fixed amount, which are not particularly good for comparisons since earnings depend more heavily on pilot skill and performance. A comparison of you personal averages, before and after patch, would give you a better idea of whether the patch was good or bad for you personally. Comparing between pilots is difficult because of the disparities between skill. It would be better for pilots to compare their findings, with regard to their change in averages, rather than raw numbers or bases.

As far as Premium Time and Heroes go, those are merely modifiers. My averages before and after the patch will both be affected equally by them, so there is no need to adjust for them. This holds true between pilots. If, for example, you and I were to compare our averages pre and post-patch, then we would see discrepancies depending on who the better player is and whether or not one or both of us run Premium Time and Heroes. That is irrelevant, however, if we were to compare the change in our personal averages because the C-bill bonuses are automatically accommodated as are our disparities in piloting. For example, let's say that you went from 20 C-bills down to 15 C-bills per match (small numbers for easier computing) without using any Premium Time or Hero Mechs. I went from 30 C-bills to 40 C-bills. You compute the percent change to determine how the patch affected your earnings, and discover that you now make 25% less than you previously did. I do the same to find that I now make about 33% more than I previously did. The fact that I use Premium Time and, occasionally, Hero Mechs does not matter, nor does personal skill level; we are dealing with percentages relating to our mutual earnings which reflect only the change in earnings due to the patch. Any bonuses I may have attained from the Hero Mechs and Premium Time are included in my pre and post-matches and accounted for in my percentage, along with any differences in our mutual piloting skills. In short, these do not affect the rate at which my earnings change relative to yours; they are merely a shift on the scale.

So, with that said, we could compare safely. You could state that you lost a quarter of your average earnings per match and that the patch was a negative experience for yourself. I could state that I gained an additional third of my earnings on top of my previous average, and that the patch was a good benefit for me. In the end, this is how the comparisons would need to be made.
