He clearly is on Premium. If he wasn't there was a box in lower mid showing what he would have earned with premium.

Here's a rather extreme example of actual *play* that will, hopefully, make the "play to win" vs "play to earn" situation more clear.
Situation: Player is in a Jester of the dual PPC + medium laser variety. He is currently engaged vs an enemy Atlas D-DC and a heavily damaged Centurion with an exposed CT, and backed up by an ML+SRM Quickdraw. His team has a few LRM boats, but they're off god knows where.
Play to earn: Although the CN9 doesn't present a big threat, shooting him in the CT is likely to result in a kill. Meanwhile, the AS7 goes to town on the QKD, at worst killing him, and at best destroying his ability to participate in the match.
Play to win: Stagger PPC fire at the AS7. With a PPC to the RT or RA every 2 seconds, you can suppress the ECM for up to half a minute, allowing your LRMs to rain some death, and are likely to take out a significant part of the his offensive potential.
Do you think that the rewards system, as it is right now, handles this situation well? Do you think this is a convoluted, one-of-a-kind scenario that doesn't happen in the game at all? Would you play to win or play to earn in this situation, and why?

Have you ever paid much attention to the amount of teamplay rewards? Count yourself lucky if it breaks 1k after sticking with the lance the whole game. The size of the reward is absolutely minimum and the while it does culminate it would take ages to make it significant, which is impossible because games only last 15 min and players have only certain a amount of time to play.

Just give you an idea. I was leading the charge with the lance behind me for the most time. You see the teamwork bonus works?

I bet you played in a premade/group, you wont like the new reward system if you run as a PUG/solo qeue.

I think that "focusing fire" produces a "dying target", so it's good for the team to focus fire.

The same with eliminating the dying centurion: the less doritos in radar the more team can focus fire; killing that damaged cn9 should not be a great deal (20 sec? 30 seconds?), and then the team can focus fire all together on the Atlas.
About the quickdraw with short range weaponry: why has he gone all alone towards the enemy, only to find an Atlas smiling at him?

The team can't focus fire on the Atlas while it has an ECM running. That's the point of scrambling it off with PPCs.

I really love it when you try to discuss hypothetical situations, and the only response you get is "that can't happen".
As I've said before, the only teammates that can help in that particular battle are the QKD and the couple of LRM boats.
But please, do continue to ignore my actual questions.

Well then your Hypothetical was countered by a Hypothesis. ECM only hampers Indirect fire. So a D-DC with ECM can be pounded by direct fire quite easily. I know from past experience Boz.

The only ones in range of direct fire are you and the QKD. And, as I have mentioned before, shooting the Atlas is the play-to-win play. But it's not something the system in place encourages.

Untrue.
I'm saying that killing a damaged target will help your team to win.
The more a mech stay alive, the more damage it can make.
Team play for win is focus fire, not engaging at will a clean mech.
So, imo, the new reward system is just fair about engaging a dying mech or a clean one
