They didn't announce anything, and even if they did, injections usually happen at 4 PM PST, so you'd have to wait till at least tonight.
Edit: Ahh, November 4th is when it's injected.

Like the Grasshopper and Enforcer variants, but would much rather have the stock 3025 Zeus as the special. Not sure on the Panther.
Overall, I think I would have prefered it be the 3025 variants.
I'm actually kinda dissapointed.

Shouldn't the ZEU-6S be the 'Hero' variant? It's the iconic/original variant, really. If you guys picked the AS7-D for the 'Hero' and the HBK-4G for the 'Hero', why break that pattern of picking the 'iconic' variant now? You may lose some purchasers over this, as many (due to past precedent) have come to expect that the most common variant will be the Hero.
There is also the balance/viability aspect; potential quirks aside, the ZEU-9S is also, frankly, not very good (in terms of the hardpoints you have assigned it). Short of some serious bonus to energy weapons, this 'mech will seldom ever see use.
The Panther faces the same issue, really; the PNT-9K is the 'iconic' variant, not the one that has been selected.
Could we have an explanation on these choices, which do deviate from past precedent?
This is purely speculation, but I imagine those variants were chosen because they represent the latest/greatest tech the IS had with which to 'Resist' the Initial invasion.
The theme of the previous two IS packages (clan packs too infact) was; Here are those Iconic mechs you want so bad!
Having the classic variant as the hero made sense.
Since the theme this time is "Resist the clans" having the variants best equipped (lore-wise) to do the job makes sense.
Russ has stated that the "mech pack" has been their most successful business strategy so far, and we should expect more of them. I for one am glad that they are mixing up which mech is the hero variant a little and hope they continue to make theme appropriate decisions in that regard.

Interesting, instead of choosing the main variant of each mech as the "Hero", the choice are the variants that are upgraded versions around 3050

would like to know if there are any bonuses for purchasing multiple top-tier packages?
Would be great if we could get multiple AS7-S or King Crabs so we can gift them.

What do PGI do all day except figure out how to break something that was previously working and add a load of useless features and 'Fixes'?
