Yeah cause being shot by a steady stream of Fire should not have any affect on a Giant walking robot!

Not if youre not hit in the head... then again, maybe they should break with canon and put the heads on the top of those mechs?

If I punch you repeatedly in the gut will you be able to look steadily forward? Mechs use a Pilots sense of balance, Computers/monitors on a desk do not. Its annoying no doubt, but I can deal with it.

I don't usually agree with Jun be you're not arguing the same point he is, here.

The issue is that the explosions / flash from ACs and missiles is enormous, and cover the cockpit even when you don't get hit anywhere near the cockpit. Combine that with the way clan missiles stream and clan ACs fire, and both essentially function like the old Jager 5-AC2 loadouts people would troll with. It's blinding and there's no good reason for it.

I'm all for being able to strategically blind people by actually aiming for the cockpit, but for a lot of mechs just hitting the CT, wherever, or launching LRM5 spam, is blinding inherently. That's the point, and it's stupid.

Do we have external video to confirm that? Seriously if there is something external recording it I will take it back. But UACs are not laser accurate and could easily be spraying all over the head and chest with out hitting the very small Cockpit hit box.

Pic isnt showing.

RPG 7s actually contain more explosive than an LRM, or an APHE, or HE shell, short of a 150mm (so AC20 range)

Its still just a flash:

Smoke/dust/debris makes plenty of sense, however less so 50 feet in the air, unless the mech is covered in dirt.

Yeah that's what you get when you don't use INFANTRY with your ARMOR...

Had that Tank been CORRECTLY supported by infantry, those scrubs screaming Allah Snackbar would have been meeting Allah instead of screaming out his name..

Whoever was in charge of that Armored operation was not doing it right.

What do you expect, you're being shot. They should have never reduced the screen shake.

I dont mind. And i am usually on the receiving end. You are getting damaged, this is the drawback. Lets put all the missing graphical features in before we start taking them out.

when i start getting hit, i hit invert throttle and reverse back to the cover i came from to stop getting hit

if this is not possible, then you may need to re-evaluate how you approach the game - and i say this in a nice way, it took me a long time and a lot of deaths to come to this realization myself

as Blakkstar mentioned, that mech is in caustic valley and is in the open when it should be hugging the hill to it's left and peering around the corners, or even better defending the ridge where the enemy came from so YOU'R the one firing on that mech out in the open

prevention is better than reaction

Did you hear that "whoosh" sound? That was the point of the argument going right over your head.

People dont know how to read apparently. The main issue is that mechs with central cockpits are unfairly penalized for no good reason.

Also any "permanently render a player incapable of fighting back" mechanic is ********. MW4's PPC spam to remove your HUD was also stupid. Players do not like being rendered helpless.

There's a reason they toned down streaks and AC2s.

Which isn't a good design, anyway. Here's a great video of another uber awesome robot of the olden days.

The joke is that Garth said you could easily defeat them if you shot the ears, bro. Yeah, that's really easy when they blind you and blow you up in two shots. So they 'fixed' that.

But never one to despair, the catapult species simply evolved.

Edit: we made a song about the great state of robot warfare.

A similar problem is the ridiculous muzzle flash effect from firing your own weapons, if you have something like a Shadowhawk with a machine gun loaded on it then practically half of your view ends up being blinded, and this also applies to AMS or even an AC2.

Firing a gun actually does create a muzzle flash and fireballs, thats a fact. Something that would make sense is maybe a new module 'reduced muzzle flash' or just make it random with a chance of 30% to create the effect.
