Based on the update Russ just made to the October quirks page, it would appear that the catapult torso twist nerf is permanent. There was no mention in the K2 or A1 quirks posting that the movement nerfs from 140 degrees to 120-110 degrees was going to be revoked.

I'm disappointed. The Cat will never compete with the MadCat.

The Catapult and the Timberwolf do completely different things..

And the Cat is supposed to be objectively inferior to the MadCat anyway so

I think the catapult nerfs are not needed now and should be taken away. Currently the catapult is much worse than it could be. It is not the only decent heavy anymore and it should get its personality back.

It should be like an armless stormcrow.

Uh... Russ said all negative quirks on all chassis are being flushed. The K2 and every catapult will be the way they originally were. Just because he doesn't include it with every quirk set he posts doesn't mean it's not being done.

Edit: Having re-read that post, you might be right. I'll be very annoyed if the K2 isn't un-nerfed. I was looking forward to taking it out again but if it's still gimped there won't be much point.

So...who cares. Clans are supposed to be superior to IS period but this is MWO where things are being balanced out.

Now I would not expect the Catapult to get too much crazy buffing, but asking for the old torso twist is a very reasonable request concerning the current environment in MWO.

Clans are supposed to have superior tech but IS is supposed to have superior numbers. The moment they decided Clan vs IS was going to be 12 vs 12 instead of 10 vs 12 (or something else), they had no choice but to balance Clan and IS 'mechs because the goal now is for an all-IS team to have an even chance of beating an all-Clan team in a 12 vs 12 match.

Are you volunteering to pilot a Catapult into battle against Timber Wolves?

So now they are supposed to balance 65t 'mechs vs 75t 'mechs as well?

**** it, let's just make 4 'mechs per faction then.

S-M-L-XL for IS

and

S-M-L-XL for Clams

Refills are free.

Yes, they should balance the 65 ton with the 75 ton, and while the scales should, perhaps, tilt stightly towards the heavier mech, the scale shouldn't bury itself three feet into the ground on the side of the Timmy. The torso twist nerf was instituted to balance the catapult against other IS mechs, even the ones that have a higher tonnage. To maintain that balance, they should lift the nerf on the torso twist.

The other mech movement nerfs are being removed, and many of us are hoping the catapult would receive similar treatment.

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/#mechs_quirks

based on this, 120 torso yaw is not a quirk but a hard change so I doubt that will change.

The K2 is set to 110 torso yaw though through a negative quirk, and the Jester has 95 torso ya, and 30 arm pitch through negative quirks... Hopefully those will be removed at least...

I thought every single negative quirk was being removed. Maybe he forgot to write it?

Every Red Quirk (negative) is being removed. They didn't mention it on a per-variant level in the Command Chair quirk updates because it's a blanket principle.

(at least, that's what was said :-)

The Catapult should get extra quirks based on its OVERLY LARGE SIZE alone!

In fact, PGI should give extra quirks to all overly large mechs, such as the Treb, KTO and QDs.

The Stalker laughs at you, and has no idea what you're on about. He thinks the Catapult and Stalker both look great :-)

Yes, but in the actual post (where quriks such as yaw are listed as movement quirks) he says movement quirks will remain as is until a later pass. So they might not be un-nerfed next week.

Nope. According to this sheet data mined from PBE, Catapults will still retain the negative quirks.

https://docs.google....&pli=1&sle=true

Those who are getting their negative quirks removed were specifically stated in there.

It is official, Catapult is the favorite missile mech PGI likes to kick around like a sick puppy.
