Considering all the horrendous bullshit I've put up with over the lifetime of this game, I'll probably play it until it dies.
I used to think this was the case, too.
Then they stepped over the line, and I instantly dropped it.
Many of us who were hit by that decided to return for round #2 (not surprising), but a large number of the returnees have gone radio silent already (also not surprising). What happens from here on out is entirely up to PGI.

So...Um... Why did you post her if you don't play any more? Kinda dumb don'cha think?
Simple: I log in every few months to see if there's something that will bring me back.
And while I'm here I also check the forums for interesting threads.

Easy.
When I find something that's more fun to play.
That will most likely be XCOM 2.

Forced ads ingame, like I want to see a redbull commercial. I'd rather watch a fake informercial for a ppc manufacturer

What the hell kind of question is that?
Do you ever ask yourself what it would take to make you quit your job, break up with your girlfriend, quit riding your motorcycle? Hell no, you do those things because you love doing them (or need to do them, in the case of a job); If it stops being enjoyable for whatever reason you stop doing it.
Man what the hell...Why would you even?

I have had several favorite games I have kept going back to after breaking for a while. I don't really ever experience #3. #4 happens after I complete a game and I don't have anyone I want to play it with. I don't try to convince someone to play a game I am playing. I just show them what I am playing at the time and let them decide for themselves.
However, there are some games that I use to go back to. But, they did something I couldn't tolerate. So, I just stopped playing and never went back. I couldn't tolerate Mega Man, Mortal Kombat, and Final Fantacy breaking so far from their roots. My interest in World of Warcraft died with the "Homogenization of Classes", making them all pretty much the same.
