As I look through more and more dev postings I noticed talk about pve content possibly later on in the game. I started wondering if that content would start to come in to play during the clan invasions. I think it would feel in-balanced to have clan lances going up aginst IS lances in pvp, but that pivitol moment when the clan invades what will happen? The best way I see this being done are small chapter up dates of co-op pve content flowing in as the events occure.

Technically the game is already cooperative, seeing it's multiplayer 12v12s (from what they've said that's what they're currently looking at) or possibly more but devs haven't busted anything on that.

And PvE, to me, would take a lot of time for the Devs as they would have to have their coders write from sratch how NPCs are to work, behave etc. Not really worth the trouble since this game is primarily focusing on an online community and community warfare.

Some Co Op missions would be really fun. The game doesn't need to be strictly limited to PvP. I'd love for a fully Co Op campaign with lots of players in lance units.

When I talk about co-op pve I'm talking about pve in a co-op inviorment instead of just solo.

Also the only reason even started thinking about pve in this game is from the devs bring it up as a possiblity for later, and with the clan invasions not too far off that would feel like the place to add it if they did.

I'm not sure how likely it would be but relased in small chapters, maybe even charge for it as an extra that it would be to play through.

The devs had stated that it has not come to mind yet, but have not said no. They've stated the exact same thing for combined arms and a few other topics.

It's safe to assume that it's not going to happen for multiple reasons.

Will you have PvE elements on MechWarrior Online?

[PAUL] I may or may not pass out depending on Bryan’s answer to this.
[BRYAN] Not at launch. We're looking at ways to incorporate PVE post launch and withing the framwork of the MWO concept.

In the Q&A1 they've talked about pve being possibly added post launch, with talk from the devs about it I would not rule it out so easy.

This would be a great way to keep the title fresh later on when popularity starts to wane. But this is MW, so I doubt that will happen anyway ;) I still play MW 2-4.

I see PvE as another avenue for income for the game. At sometime down the road they could release optional PvE expansions that players can purchase if they wish. Maybe a campaign containing a preset number of missions based on some event taken from canon.

They could release a 10 mission campaign designed for 4 player co-op every few months and charge $19.95 or so for it. Many of us would buy them.

Possibru, not yes. Safe to assume it's not going to happen. Lot's of game companies talk to talk but don't do that walk. THERE'S A REASON THERE WAS NO A-10 IN MERCENARIES 2 WORLD IN FLAMES! >:E *mad face*

But yeah, you've kind of sort of beaten me so here's an imaginary hershey's kiss.

I could even see them doing it as a permission purchuse relasing them one, two, or three missions at a time that match with certian events that happened during the clan invasion.

Hmm, i would say cant being clan will make the half players run fire-breathing in the Forum.

But i really would like to see PvE im praying for it. The point i like the most with MW is the story and the best way for telling a story with the feeling your the ruler is in PvE in a campaign.

I would definitely like to see PVE incorporated into the game as both coop missions (I would totally pay $20 for a good coop campaign) and as npc units in battles

I feel that especially in the community warfare part of it, if you could pay cbills to have a garrison of soldiers/tanks on your captured planet to fight alongside you, that would be very cool

I think it would be pretty cool for this game to run opposite of all the previous ones, in that co-operative PvE play will come later. What would make it better, and this has been discussed several times on these forums previously, but there's nothing wrong with keeping the idea fresh, would be to release a means for players to create content in the form of missions and campaigns. Cryptic did it for City of Heroes, and there's the Forge they built for Star Trek Online... it would be MUCH easier to do with MechWarrior Online, I think. There are specific ideas, missions, and campaigns that could be constructed relatively easily, and these could be used to gauge player's abilities in with their particular roles, as well.

I would also pay for a campaign, but if I'm going to pay for a campaign, the in-game benefits of successful completion are going to have to be pretty substantial.

Oooo I could see taking part as a commander roll in a mission and ordering npc tanks/soldiers to attack certian locations, issuing artillary strikes in another, then leading an assult with your lance on prime targets.

Rather new to these forums and still reading up on everything but I thought I'd put my two cents here. May be slightly off topic as it references an older project these guys had going on though but here we go.

Since MWO was more or less redesigned as an online multiplayer MechWarrior from the older Mechwarrior Reboot project depending on the success of MWO I can see some publishers rethinking investing in bringing out Mechwarrior Reboot from a few years back. However PvE content would be a definite plus to this game when/if it gets released post launch sometime.

I'd love to see Clan PVE - possibly with random dev and company agent hidden dropins... so we'd never know until a mech did something weird that it was a human at the controls.

I know that'd freak me out if I thought I'd gotten the NPC AI pegged and it suddenly got a whole load smarter... B)

Maybe they could modify the Mechwarrior 4 AI's to this game, not ideal but it still gets the job done quickly.

I too would like to see some PvE as a side dish.
