000 is the default "classic" variant and thus like the reward model too Founder/Phoenix/Invasion style, 0000 has to imply hardpoint inflation/restrictions to separate it from the 000 and the reset of the variants are out on timeline reasons (Remaining SLDF variants are Royals and virtually unknown/unavailable to everybody and Clanbuster is 3052/Battle of Tukayyid.

Enforcer shows PGI aren't oppose to inventing variants, making it less assured they will breach timeline for a third variant. Problem is what would they come up with if so...

I'm guessing the KGC-0000 and KGC-001 for sure because those are the two that variants are actually in timeline (KGC-001 appears in the TRO 3050 Upgrade) after that the question is what variants provide some distinctiveness from the above. Unlike the Enforcer they actually have several viable options. Frankly I wouldn't put it past PGI to give us the KGC-0000 while calling it a KGC-000. (kind of like what they did with the Daishi's A Config)

Hypothetical hard point distribution...

KGC-000 / 0000
Stock Loadout: 2x AC20, LL, LRM 15
Minimum Hardpoints: 2 B (LA, RA), 1 E (RT) 1 M (LT)

KGC-010
Stock Loadout: 2x LB 10X 2x PPC 2x SRM 6
Minimum Hardpoints: 2 B (LA, RA), 2 E (LT, RT) 2 M (LT, RT)

KGC-001
Stock Loadout: 2x Gauss, 2x SSRM2, LPL, LRM 15
Minimum Hardpoints: 2 B (LA, RA), 1 E (RT) 3 M (2 LT, 1 RT)

Give the the 000 / 0000 an additional ballistic in each arm and you've got a standard of 6 HP across the board with a Missile boat, a Ballistic Boat, and a symmetrical "all-rounder".

TRO:3050 Upgrade in-universe is a Jihad era book and includes variants from the 3070s, the 001/Clanbuster doesn't come out til 3052. Even the original TRO:3050 wasn't released in-universe in 3050...

6 hardpoints seems a bit low compared to the other hundred ton mechs. 8 would be more in line with the Atlas range.

4B 2E 2M is most likely. The model preview in Vlog 9 looks like it's got room for 2E and 2M ontop of the side torsos.

I know but that book lists the KGC-001's as first appearing in 3050 ;)

Why invent a variant or repeat the same load-out when you have a canon and timeline/tech-level appropriate alternative available?

Right, that's why I specifically said "Minimum Hardpoints". Though it occurs to me that giving the KGC only 6 Hardpoints might prevent people from complaining about it "making the Atlas obsolete"

Now I have to clean up again.

My copy of it doesn't list an intro date of the 001 on page 222, where does yours list the date?

If it has 2B each arm, the 4xUAC/5 builds will give Dakka a new meaning.

IIRC they said the stock model will have 4 B points.

Page 224, development and introduction dates (3050 and 3052 respectively) are right below the "Manufactured By" line in the unit description block. This is corroborated by the KGC's flavor text, the Tukayyid scenario pack (pg 16) and the master unit list. That said Even if we go with the 3052 date I don't understand your objection. Comstar has been in possession of the King Crab production line on Mars since the fall of the star league. The KGC-001 was deployed as a direct response to the clan invasion, and guess what, the invasion is here.

There are genuinely distinct variants available. Why not use them?

Well is it a hero or a champion?
I could see:
-4x ballistic's (RA+LA),2x energy (CT),4x Missile's (RT+LT)
(at most ignoring all law maybe even a new weapon mount where the winch is located)
OR
-2x ballistic's+2x energy(LA+RA),2x energy(CT) 2x missile's+2x AMS (RT+LT)

Just had a thought seeing those front side torso's look almost like lattice shutter's, what could they hide in there?

It will probably be like this on hardpoints...

KGC-000 B2-[RA/LA] E2-[RT] M1(1x15)-[LT]
KGC-0000 B2-[RA/LA] E1-[RT] M2(2x10)-[LT]
KGC-010 B4-[RA/LA] E2-[RT/LT] M2(2x10)-[RT/LT]
KGC-001 B4-[RA/LA] E1-[RT] M3(1x15, 2x10)-[LT]

Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't change the model from these preview pics (unless it's adding details). The stance and proportions look really good, IMO.
