I think something like 250-270 meters to match IS streaks would have been perfect.

You are supposed to be able to ECM a missile boat when you are skilled enough (the 30 meter range outside of the BAP) now, you cant do that anymore, because EVERYONE runs BAP/CAP.
its insane to see your ecm cancelled and you have no idea from where.

I'd like someone to explain to me how the Clans and all of their "superior tech" now have the crappiest sensors in the 'Verse?
Beagle Probe gets a range buff and Clan Probe doesn't? Without even looking at the meta how does that make sense?
Both sides have ECM in more than one class of mech yet Clan gets the shaft on this. Ridiculous.

Clan Active probes have the same range as BAP is it just that BAP because the "common" term used to describe any active probe be it Clan or IS.

Just my 287 cents here:
I tend to use my ECM-Mechs (Spider, Raven, Cicada) to give my teammates cover from LRM's, at least as long as we are in the open. This is one of the two roles ECM could play, and i actually like this job, although it means i have to stay hidden for the most time, thereby denying myself of a chance to deal damage, get assists or even kills.
I find it challenging to keep the ideal range to my teammates to cover as many of them as possible.
The second role would be to stay away from the enemy and uncover their general position or movement from a distance without getting detected.
I totally accept that BAP counters ECM at close range, so enemy Mechs can shoot me with their Streaks.
However, raising the ECM-Conter range from BAP to 360m seems a bit steep.
Both for scouting and providing cover.
I would like to encourage the DEV's to try 240 meter and see how this will affect balance.
I fully understand that trying to bring balance to this game is a major task and might need a lot of experimenting.
A lot of people tend to forget that BattleTech did start as a board-game, and a lot of what works on paper (literally) does not work in an MMO-Game, and therefore need to be adjusted (like giving 18 points of armor to the cockpit instead of the original 9; real players could aim way better then Dices, after all
).
I appreciate how PGI tries to keep the game as close to the lore as possible, but sometimes changes need to be made to keep this game play- and enjoyable.
It is not possible to satisfy anyone, at least not at once.
And don't forget that MWO is basically free to play; we get a lot for something that is essentially free.
So, PGI, keep up the good work, and never stop listening to the community!

Today's patch increased BAP counter-ECM range from 150m (without Sensor Range Module) to 360m.
Why was not BAP counter-ECM range changed to 180m instead? The same range as using counter mode on an ECM equipped mech?

ECM whiners. Devs listening to the wrong people. No plan for a real meta. LRMpocalypse is back.

I think the primary issue with BAP is that it's a global interferer. In other words, one BAP can counteract any number of ECMs in its range and I think that's a bit much.
Right now, it's coverage is too powerful. I understand wanting to defeat ECM, but it penalizes teams that have more than one ECM too much.
In spite of that, I've gimped my Raven - it carries both ECM and BAP. That way I don't have to choose whether to counter or disrupt. Unless I need the C-Bills.
