PGI stated they were nervous about poptarting making a resurgence. I'm sure they'll do something if it becomes a problem again.

As for 'stupidly overpowered', i'm going to have to respectfully disagree. The mechs with the biggest buffs are those that needed it most. The Awesome can toss out PPC's like water from a hose, but still has terrible hitboxes, TERRIBLE hardpoint locations, terrible speed, and DW's and TW's still eat it for breakfast.

Give it some time. Many well established and skilled players are ludicrously excited to be running their old favourite mechs again. If they really do turn out to be OP, then they can be reined in.

And that children, is what we call balancing :P

I'm sorry...I am enjoying them but they are just SO stupidly over powered it isn't funny...

You've also brought back jump sniping.....just different mechs doing it now.

Respectfully disagree as many have said. Each mech has a different flavor that it caters to now. Increases battlefield variety is going to increase and you will see a more diverse and balanced assembly of teams of mechs.

Look at all the different mechs on the battlefield. Something tells me you just need to learn to adapt.

This patch is the best I have ever seen.

Quirks are not stupid, they are just strange... For example - HGN-P got LL quirk when there are no LL by lore and stock loadout. And even more - its useless for that mech for some reason, But no PPC quirk. WTF? VTRs got no quirks now, or its just a bug? DRG-5N got ac2 quirk?! Realy!? Have you ever try that with 2xAC2?! Looks like no, coz 2xAC2 is 1)too heavy 2)too hot 3)just worse then 2xUAC5... I can continye but realy - lets hope that those quirks are here just as a placeholders and will be tuned, other way they should not be there at all.

P.S. make equipment quirks - jj, ecm, bap - they all need urs love too...

P.P.S. as for me, all HGNs quirks need to be re-balanced, and we should not see quirks for directly named weapon for most mechs, only few excaptions like HBK-G etc. IMHO.

P.P.P.S. ofc i will live with that if it will not be changed, but realy - is it fine to balance mechs around 1-2-3 luadout concept?... dont think so...

Maybe it is to do with the fact that with 3 ballistic slots, you have the choice of running 3 x AC2's or 3 x MG's and not much else, IF you want to combine ballistics with anything else and be effective. I myself have been enjoying a 2 x AC2 and 2 x ER LL build on my 5N today.

they need to be rolled back, or dialed down by 80%

No, no they don't. It hasn't even been 24 hours. Give it time to actually have an effect on the metagame before you ask for that sharp of a change.

This just goes to show, no matter how well-implemented a good change is, SOMEONE is going to complain about it.

Apparently... people will always find a way to complain about something nice.

Why didn't the Griffin receive that same quirks as the Wolverine.

GRF-3M
 SRM/4 Range +5%
 Missile Weapon Range +5%
 Torso Yaw Speed +10%

WVR-7K
 SRM/6 Range +10%
 Missile Weapon Range +10%
 SRM/6 Cooldown +10%
 Missile Weapon Cooldown +10%
 Energy Weapon Range +12.5%
 Torso Yaw Speed +25%

Aren't they the same variant type but different mech? Seems the Wolverine was buffed quite a bit more, just wondering.

Maybe because then they would be identical mechs on the battlefield and therefore would not be as unique anymore.

THere ia aome ugly min/maxig available, CDA-2A has MLAs +7.5% cooldown, Energy wep +7.5% cool down, add fast fire @ +5% and a level 5 MLas cooldown module at 12.5% to total 32.5% faster fire rate for MLas on a CDA2A fully mastered. ... .thats a hell of a lot of DPS.

A Cent 9-D gets similar with an LBX-10 but worse, 20% LBX-10, 20% balistics, 5% fast fire, 12.5% for cool down module for a total of 57.5% faster rate of fire. My cent will be out for a run soon. If the LBX-10 and balistics dont stack then they should be different values and the generic one lower.

I am all for the variety of builds but some if it is just a bit insane.

Also they did say some of the tweeks were purely arbitary and had nothing to do with lore..... dont think that was a good move. ratrher encourage stock builds even if it is not optimal.

They DO stack, which is the beauty. If you wanted, say, an AC-10 instead, you would lose the extra 20%.

Some Quirks seem a bit over the top (the doubled Quirks that give 40 to 50% Cooldown reduction for example - 30% to 35% would be enough imho).
Aside of that it promotes build diversity and it is up on the Players to make use of it.

But i am pretty sure in the end it will still be not more than 2 Mech Variants per Weightclass that set the mark.

This is the first time in a long while that I've seen Quickdraws, Dragons, and Awesomes be viable, and people are complaining.

Take Note: The only people complaining about the perks are people running clan mechs.

There very well may be some OP quirks. The lbx10 on the cent D, the dragon with lasers and UAC's. But I have confidence that if there are any REAL issues they will be fixed. PGI/Russ has been very agressive in the balance changes since August. And PGI has stated multiple times (including the patch notes) that changes will be made if required.

Woah woah woah... I would like everyone to stop and see this historic moment...

When someone said that LBX10s and DRAGONS are OP.

Brings a tear to my eye.

Agreed, instant complaints about something that is not even given a chance. These quirks allow for diversity for players to bring whatever mech they choose.

MOST of us don;t like running cookie cutter builds, so this patch was a HUGE improvement....I felt like I was going to NOXXIC to get the top TIER mech so I wouldn't blow before this.

This is the most positive step forward that I've yet to encounter, and I've been playing for a very, very long time indeed.

Without the quirks system, the game was a min-max fest, and many mechs disappeared from the game almost entirely. Post-patch, the game is more varied and diverse than ever.

I actually feel pretty bad now that I've cleaned out my garage. :-(

I'm sorry, but all of the majority IS players saying this is the best patch ever. I must respectfully disagree with you completely.

If they were going to push this level of IS quirks, they should've pushed Clan quirks as well, because in the 20 odd matches I played today in my clan mechs I, and the rest of my team if they were running clan mechs, were summarily picked apart no contest. Tell me why incentive I have to play if it's just going to be one faceroll after another because I chose to go with Clan mechs instead of IS.

My Dire Wolf has felt like nothing more than easy pickings for faster, and obviously stronger, quirked out IS mechs. I love my Dire Wolf dearly, but I am very much feeling like myself, and probably others that perfer clan mechs, are getting ran off this game.

Say what you will, but this patch was overall poorly implemented and completely lopsided in favor of IS mechs following nerf, after nerf, after nerf, after nerf of the Clan mechs.

I'm not against IS mechs having quirks that help their particular role. This has been overkill and will probably result in one of two things. Clan players will either quit, or just use IS mechs again because they don't find getting steamrolled to be fun. Either way, this will cause PGI's idea of CW to fall flat on its face.

I sincerely hope PGI is going to start looking at the bigger picture before they make anymore changes like this in the future.

In two weeks or so (when the experimenting and familiarisation is done) there should be a massive Clan vs IS test in the public queue again. Then we see what the quirks accomplish and what is simple butthurt.

If we get even somewhat close to 50/50, handshakes all around, take my money and keep going. If it's more than 60-65% wins for one side or the other, more work needs to be done.

For now everyone should just keep a calm head.

IS players have been steamrolled by clanners for a while now, they didn't find it that much fun either. That said, I will admit that some of these sets of quirks do seem VERY strong. Guess PGI want to see what impact these quirks have, and tweak them a bit, before giving any to the previously much stronger clan mechs. I'm sure the clanners will get theirs before the CW, at least.

meanwhile, i don't have the money to get one of these insta powered IS mechs, i don't want to GRIND for one, only to have it nerfed to **** in the next week, and i don't want to sell the clan mechs i paid for. drop these quirk benefits by 60%, REMOVE VELOCITY AND COOLDOWN PERKS FOR BALLISTICS (you know this is OP as hell russ bullock, AC20s are flying like MG rounds!)

and give us the freaking ROTARY LBX ALREADY!

I have almost exclusively played Clan Mechs since I got my Pack and I still endorse this patch.
We had our part of the fun for a long time now, but the game needs balance. Maybe some IS Mechs were overbuffed, so what? At least there is a reason to reassemble some classic IS chassis and show some Claners they now need skills to rule the game!

And that's how it should be, the Direwolfs pack insane amounts of weapon tonnage, but they are slow and unwieldy. Bad luck if you stray from your Lance and get chipped down to the core by faster Mechs running circles around you. As a long time Atlas pilot I know it sucks if it happened, but more often than not it's your own fault or bad PUG dice.

When CW actually, if ever, comes out all of these quirks are needed.
