Quicky´s got alot quirks but mainly 10 ish %..

I would pick any time The dragons. Who knows they might nerf the quirks on the dragon

Tip: No pun intended but you can hit the tip, or the side torsos of every Dragon. They've got nothing on anything big anyway, and smaller things can wreck it by running circles.

Let me help you with your thread title,

"I know the Dragon mech needed some help, but I think the quirks were a little too much"

There you go!

Skilled pilots just compensated its shortcomings with their skill. This didn't change the fact that other mechs were flat out better.

perhaps some mechs in the heavy class were better but it doesnt mean that the dragon was bad before the new quirks

I don't have a Dragon myself, but the Quickdraw has been a lot of fun since the quirks. My -4G (y'know, the useless Quickdraw) is currently sitting at 8 kills to 0 deaths after 4 games. It's not unbeatable, but it's no longer an instant death if I encounter anything bigger... I mean, heavier than it is.

Nah quickdraws were fine and are fine but the Dragon quirks are just insane. 50% on ac5 without weapon Module is outta control

It was bad. No ifs, ands, or buts.

In fact, there was a thread about "the worst mech overall" and most people agreed that it was the Dragon chassis, with the exception of Flame.

The Dragon-1N still isn't great. What everyone is forgetting is that you still need constant face time with an enemy to actually do any damage. The Dragon isn't exactly a mech cut out for constant face time. Going back to cover or turning away means drastically reducing your DPS compared to a mech that can unload a ton of burst damage and back out.

As of now it's ok as opposed to hilariously awful.

EDIT: And my personal perspective as a Light is that it's pretty much the same as before, except they're trying so much harder to hit you giving you a better view of their ST/CT.

Not all opinions and experiences are of equal value. If the majority of decent players (and even many not so decent players) agree that the Dragon wasn't great, what are the chances that you are some magician that made them a good mech versus you deluding yourself?

Do us a little favor. Abuse your OP dragon some more and raise your ELO, and maybe then you can show us how OP it is.

Am I about to see a mad rush to use DRGs in comp games, I don't think I have ever seen a DRG in a comp game... ?

The Dragon wasn't good before. I made it work for me in specific situations, but good? See, you can do well in every Mech if the enemy team is doing poor decisions but that only means exactly that the enemy isn't at their sharpest, not that the Mech is any good.

The new quirks may need a tiny bit of nerfing but overall I am happy with what they did with the Dragon. Now it is not only visualy appealing Mech but also a dangerous flanker, as it should be.

It could but Rvn-3l is better for that one, ECM, speed and stuff.
