It's true. I can't think of a better solution though. Once I was able to grind through basics on my first mech (I think it was a Hunchback) it got a lot easier. But I was not topping scoreboards until I had Mastered my Highlander(s). Patience is just a pre-requisite to this game IMO.

I did go it alone...never made any friends. I still had fun.
