1. Kills and assists should be worth the same amount. A player should not be punished for finishing off a badly damaged opponent.
2. Wins should not be factored into the equation. As it is the teams the matchmaker give you have too much influence already. Don't punish a player having a great game just because the rest of his team is bad.
3. Change the scoring from the top 10 matches to the average of all matches played with a minimum number of matches to quality, say 25 matches minimum.
This would take the advantage away from the people who get to play 10 hours a day, minimize the negative effects of the matchmaker giving you worthless teams, and stop punishing players for trying to win by killing the enemy.

I agree to an extent - the participation award is a nice touch but the emphasis on assists is causing most people to go on headless chicken runs instead of using good fire discipline to actually kill the opposing team.

This is a playtest, not a tournament. They knew they could get almost everyone out to play. This is being held for the data. They can afford to hand out the C-bills, and MC. The reason the formula is the way it is was determined by their data needs, not what players wanted.
And, you get the incomparable Hula girl. How many MC does she cost in the store?

Weekends are always bad. Weekends with tournaments bring out the subhumans.

I exclusively played a single heatsink firestarter, armed with one AC5 and three tons of ammo. The rest of you purple birds need to step it up a bit.
As for the scoring, it's horrible. I thought we'd get more events like the halloween one. Though it had very small rewards, it had lots of them, and people didn't need to compete with their friends to get them. We were having lots of fun comparing our draws, while this event is a lot of rage from the people who are actually trying to place.
PGI, plz.

Don't you guys at PGI think about the incentives from such formula and the consequences for the game given that many/most people do everything to achive high scores???
I honestly think they are very myopic over there at PGI. What they fail to realize is the sheer amount of people that will simply just take a break, or even quit and go play another game...one that gives more rewards or a seemingly better chance at 'winning'. It is why many of us play.. to either win or feel like you have accomplished something.
I just ground out 10 hours straight of gaming. I achieved exactly 10 successful matches out of 46 matches that the game has counted thus far. The only games I scored 130 or above in were wins. That means my team lost 3/4 of the time.
That can be downright depressing for any player.
My point is.. PGI needs to quit 'gathering data' and start finding ways to keep it's less elite (i.e. the average player like myself) happy. Else they are just shooting their own game in the foot...

So does that mean I am a good, bad, average player? Anyway.. tired of being on teams that pretty much get wiped. Off to unwind playing Minion Rush!

Yep....and during all that play time, I earned about 1 million...which is actually quite horrible. 10 hours of STRAIGHT playing and not even close enough earned to buy a crappy IS light mech!
Sad face...

This did not qualify and the zero point suggested it was a loss but it was not a loss. It was a win on HPG. I think the scoring is buggy.

I did a few drops in my TDR-9SE, switched to my TDR-5S (P) for a few matches, then switched back. The matches I played in my Phoenix-bolt aren't showing up on the challenge screen. but the matches I played in the TDR-9SE both before and after are.

Aren't you merc Corp? In which case it is a zero score because you were running a clan mech.....
