we didn't lose anything, it started an hour earlier and ended an hour earlier, if you, like me... neglected to read the PST part ( I assumed PDT) then you may have made yourself lose an hour on this

Incorrect.

Not to nitpick, but the times posted were incorrect, it wasn't a mistake on every single players' part, it was a mistake on whoever posted the times' part. I keep my phone set to split time for a reason, and was sitting there late at night grinding away for an extra hour for literally no reason, as I was going by the time provided, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

It's not a huge deal, just some sleep I could have probably used, but for some people, who had less time to play, I'm sure it was a major disappointment.

I really wish these special events can be week long instead of just for a few day. Most of the time I am away home and my gaming PC. When I do manage to get on I usually am on around for a day of the challenge.

There's absolutely zero coherent, objective reason why these two matches should have been this close in score.

Heck, once I really thought about the formula used, it was borderline abusive to simply tag as many mechs as possible and intentionally not kill any. It really wasn't representative of what "good" gameplay looks like.

Yeah, I experienced that as well. I was kind of irked at the discrepancy.

The challenge scoring system is quite broken as it is. I run a Timber Wolf without LRMs and the snaps below pretty much tell it all. "Scoreboard-worthy" score comes from a lost game where I had zero kills and did not manage to bring anything down, a match withing not much to write home about. Then there is 6 kill maniac brawl (one funniest and adrenaline-inducing games I've ever taken part of, even lost a torso half-way) in Frozen city, I'm aiming and bursting exposed IS XL-engines and challenge-wize that gets "oh well, not into top-300 with these" score

Posted Image

Other than these, I had matches with me doing 3 one-to-one duels in a row (again, insanely fun fights) that lead to solo kills that equates challenge score of 140. I love the idea of these challenges but from what I've seen the scoring needs a rework; I understand lights need to be able to score well too, but I saw way too many scoreboard with 10-11 assists with very little damage for them over the weekend.

I'm a little annoyed at staying up until 3 AM (EST) to grind out a few more matches. I double checked the time on the announcement and EST-PST difference to make certain that I was not wasting my time. This is sloppy and unprofessional.

I didn't really try to participate in this tournament beyond getting the bonus 100k--But, I will make one observation:

The drop to drop history of my individual performance and being able to see it on a single page was wonderful. I would love to see this as a standard feature going forward to track progress even when not in tournaments.

And as far as the formula, results like these speak for them-self.

Mech. K Dam Assist Team Dam Score
STK-3FC 3 685 1 0 96 2014-11-17 04:55:44 Did not qualify
STK-3FC 1 342 7 4 173 2014-11-17 05:10:37 Qualified

A score formula should be based on more than assists. Possibly have it based on the XP or a modified version of XP so it will include more of the acts, spotting, UAV use, narc use, that make you an effective player and asset to your team.

Agreed. I want to see more stats in general and even have them public, but since they definitely have the mechanics in place to track matches, it's something I'd like to see displayed.

It was neat to see the individual drop stats, but in the future I'd like to see them sorted by time instead of 'mech; in the distant future the ability to sort however we want would be even better.

I looked at the http://mwomercs.com/clock link to keep track of the "Game" Time the server (from my games at lest) it stopped recording match about 45min early (Using the linked clock from PGI).

(Edit: correct Typo in link)
P.S. you forums have a input problem for I.E. 11, it don't not take copy and paste, if you type faster than a chicken pecking a the keyboard it skips over letters you hit.

This, 100% this. My last recorded game was at 10:55 pm, despite dropping several times afterwards.

The start and end times were listed as PST, not as PDT. If it was listed as PDT, I could agree that it was players misreading it. I could also agree that it was the fault of the person who posted the tournament page. But as it is posted in PST, that's an hour earlier than PDT. So clock site correct, game server wrong. Tournament should have started and ended an hour later than it did.

I just copied it off the website and pasted it into excel to sort and summarize the numbers as I wanted. I also create pretty charts off the data, but I know I am strange and like to crunch numbers.
