I think I'll make this replace my PPC poptart Cute Fox. Much better profile, although we'll see how that upper torso fares.

Not the most significant speed difference, and both lose limbs to dual Gauss.

skimp a little on the armor, add ECM and it would be a really obnoxious poptart/ppc sniper

Not a great mech, but annoying as heck.

Aside from that second picture, it looks reasonably sized.

I hope 124 is fast enough to not lose any component anytime something even looks at you.

I think the "gun arms" will get shot off. I expect the ECM arm to have a naturally smaller profile. The thing is the guns "increase" the size of the arms... thus bigger hitboxes, and ultimately it suffers from "Commando-itis" w/o CT weapons.

the un-gunned arm makes the Spider look like Schwarzenegger. It should be ok, though that just means the ST likely will pop.

Still, with jj feathering, it will probably be able to bork HSR a bit.

Considering that JJ magic has borked HSR for the already good mechs (see Timber Wolf), it might need to inherit some Spider magic.

Of course, I'll be spending time in teh Angry Kitteh very soon (prelabbing stuff now).

Lynx looks awesome, very relieved to see it's actually a decent size, was expecting it to be a lot taller from the concept art. Should be a fun little mech, decent scout + harasser. Can't wait to get my hands on one, timberwolf dropped for cbills already btw - I just bought one, did 5 solo drops, 5 wins, 3-4 kills per game, logged out bored, need a challenge! One more ferret to master then woop woop mist lynx time ;)

That second picture made it look like the the rear torso's were a gigantic target until you see it next to the spider and then it's like.... oh... actually it's just really small over all.

looks like it's a bit wider than the Commando but shorter, will be interesting to see on the battlefield.

This was my first thought as well.

Yeah this is the kicker. 124 kph isn't slow but it isn't the 145-150 kph most IS lights run at and at only 25 tons, armor is fairly light.

Also 124 kph is ONLY after your unlock tweak. It is only 113 kph pre-tweak so it might end up being a challenge to play until you get tweak unlocked.

6.5.

Still pretty low either way.

Actually it isn't bad at all and I didn't even realize it until after playing my Ice Ferret.

You can run 3 ER ML, 1 ER SL and 3 extra DHS for example which will run cool while providing more firepower, at significantly longer ranges than 5 IS MLs. (well longer range at least when engaging with the ER MLs anyway).

Yeah those weapons are way oversized for the mech. Granted I know they are trying to keep weapons to scale across all mechs but they really kind of need to scale the sleeves on those lasers down to the size of the len boxes and ditch the outer sleeves.

on the plus side, those dumbbell can work as shield arm.

A mech with no torso weapons cannot afford to use the arms as shields.

I'm talking about this mech specifically. It has no torso weapons, and completely relies on its arms to deal damage.

He is addressing that. Sure you would be sacrificing a large chuck of firepower, but sacrificing an arm in order to live a little longer even at half firepower would be well worth it. Also a arm-less, weaponless light can still cap a base or distract the enemy.

No.

See, this is already worse than a Kitfox (closest mech that tends to not run torso weapons).

If you're running the ECM arm, losing the RA will make you practically useless weaponswise. I guess being helpful with ECM would be all you could do then, but that's it.

In essence, the mech becomes easily neutered, and although Lights in general are neutered pretty easily, this is exceptionally much easier to accomplish when something actually hits you.

In comparison to the Commando... it still has CT weaponry (minus the TDK) despite being easier to kill through the side torso due to IS XL engine design.

OMG... I love how tiny it is. The arm sizes will be a possible issue, but I'm really excited to take this thing out with 4xERML or 4xSPL.

I'm going to laugh my butt off when I see a swarm of these in game destroying heavies and assaults.
