- Medium: Sentinel, Wyvern (or Crab)
- Heavy: Black Knight, Excalibur (or Champion) - the Excalibur needs a third variant
- Assault: Cyclops, Pillager (or Emperor) - both the Pillager and the Emperor need a third variant
Reinforcements/Reward: Thug, Crockett


Clan Wave ? (early omnimech designs, but need the implementation of MASC):

- Light: Fire Moth/Dasher - the problem is: the Fire Moth might be too fast for the game engine
- Medium: Shadow Cat
- Heavy: Woodsman - needs a third omni configuration
- Assault: Executioner/​Gladiator


Underdog Guerrilla* Pack: (IS is throwing everything they have against the Clans)

- Light: UrbanMech, Javelin
- Medium: Assassin, Dervish
- Heavy: Lancelot, Merlin (or BattleAxe, or Hammerhands) - both the BattleAxe and Hammerhands need a third variant, but adding any would be a joy for Warhammer fans
- Assault: Charger, Mackie (!) - now just image the first mech in a MW game...
Reinforcements/Reward: Clint, Hermes II, Vulcan

*Some of these chassis might be considered lackluster, so here is a suggestion for monetizing this:
$30: 1st tier, 2 light mechs
$60: 2nd tier, 2 light mechs + 2 medium mechs
$90: 3rd tier, 2 light mechs + 2 medium mechs + 2 heavy mechs
$120: top tier, 2 light + 2 medium + 2 heavy + 2 assault
Reinforcements: $35 or $40: 3 extra medium mechs


Clan Wave IV (featuring Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon favorites. Timeline: 3052):

- Light: Fire Falcon
- Medium: Phantom
- Heavy: Linebacker
- Assault: Turkina
Reinforcement/Reward: Night Gyr


Wolf Dragoons Pack:

- Light: Firefly (or Falcon)
- Medium: Hoplite
- Heavy: Flashman (or Gallowglas, depending on the timeline)
- Assault: Annihilator
Reinforcements/Reward: Imp, Shogun


Clan Second Line Garrison Pack (early Clan non-omni mechs - most need extra variants):

- Light: Piranha, Horned Owl/Peregrin (or Incubus/Vixen)
- Medium: Vapor Eagle/Goshawk, Conjurer/Hellhound
- Heavy: Grizzly, Glass Spider/Galahad (or Black Python/Viper)
- Assault: Supernova, Kodiak
Reinforcements/Reward: Bane/Kraken, Stone Rhino/Behemoth


Payback Pack (featuring high-tech mechs to fight the Clans, some without 3 variants - which is not a problem anymore. Timeline: ~3054):

- Light: Wolfhound
- Medium: Bushwacker
- Heavy: Penetrator
- Assault: Mauler - Mauler variants are complicated
Reinforcement/Reward: Hatamoto


Clan Wave V (later omnimechs. Timeline: 3060):

- Light: Hellion (needs MASC) or Cougar
- Medium: Black Lanner (needs MASC) or Mongrel/Grendel
- Heavy: Nova Cat
- Assault: Blood Asp
Reinforcement/Reward: Pouncer


Melee Pack (after adding melee weapons. Timeline: ~3060):

- Light: Scarabus?
- Medium: Hatchetman
- Heavy: Axman
- Assault: Berserker
Reinforcement/Reward: No-Dachi.


IS Omni Pack (Timeline: ~3064):

- Light: Owens (or Raptor, or Actic Fox) - problem: Owens has Single Heat Sinks
- Medium: Strider (or Men-Shen) - problem: Strider has Single Heat Sinks
- Heavy: Avatar
- Assault: Sunder
Reinforcements/Reward: Templar, Hauptmann


Vengeance Revenge Pack (with mechs from the Mechwarrior 4 series. Timeline: ~3064):

- Light: Osiris
- Medium: Uziel
- Heavy: Argus (or Thanatos)
- Assault: Fafnir
Reinforcements/Reward: Hellspawn, Chimera


Clan Refits (least exciting pack, and would need extra new variants):

- Light: Commando IIC
- Medium: Hunchback IIC
- Heavy: Orion IIC
- Assault: Highlander IIC


And, last but not least, the Project Phoenix II: (OK, only in our dreams)

- Light: Wasp, Stinger (or Valkyrie)
- Medium: Phoenix Hawk, Ostroc (or Ostsol)
- Heavy: Marauder, Warhammer
- Assault: Longbow, Marauder II
Reinforcements/Reward: Archer, Crusader (or Rifleman)


Other possible packs: Lostech Pack (with very old or almost extint designs, like the Rampage), Solaris Pack (with Solaris mechs from the Technical Readout 3055 Upgrade, preferably after adding melee to the game), IS MASC Pack (with Flea, finally)...

Viper/Shadowcat?

you need your head examined...sure effectiveness of each could be argued...but look at them....Alex would have to work wonders to make the viper look pretty....Shadowcat...DONE...
(and yes, im talking about throwing money at mechs that look better, for the ShadowCat, i would do this...)

The uglier they originally are, the better they get after Alex Iglesias Midas' Touch.

Anyway, I kind of like the miner/locomotive look of the Viper...

I am a relative newbie to this game, however I am doing ok and having fun.

Over the past 3 weeks this is what I have spent:

$120 USD for the Clan II pack
$60 USD for MC credits
$35 USD for Karma Cards.

So far over $220, I don't recall any game costing so much money, bar subscription based games. One thing is, I feel the mechs are way too expensive. I don't think I will be sinking any more cash into the game.

$120 for a pack of 12 mechs?, I think the price should be halved, $60 is alot for virtual goods. Its not like you can trade them around too.

Secondly, there needs to be more fun modes for this game and balancing out. All I see is stomping or being stomped on. Very rare do I see games going down to 1 - 2 mechs.

Local servers would be nice or geographically better located servers. 280ping from AU is hellish.

My 2 cents, hope someone at PGI thinks about more transactions but at less cost then big expensive packs.

Got a good one that needs many made up variants and has to wait until 3057 to see all the 'Mechs.

Best Laid Plans: (Star League designs that did not see production until well after its fall, 3058 *grumbleDragonfiregrumble*)
Light - Falcon Hawk
Medium - Enfield
Heavy - War Dog
Assault - Nightstar
Reinforcement/Reward Marauder's Legacy: Maelstrom and Dragonfire along with the Nightstar above.

The FedSuns is harder to do than it sounds going for only 'Mechs produced there. They produce few light 'Mechs that are not Useen or quads, so a bit release date dependent. Many of the 'Mechs they use are produced in the Lyran Commonwealth. Because between Defiance Industries and Coventry Metal Works plus the plethora of smaller manufacturers the Commonwealth gives the FWL a run for its money in pure proliferation. Most need new variants.
Sword and Sunburst;
Light - Javelin or Fireball (181kph stock, MG and Streak 2, 3 variants by 3054)
Medium - Dervish or Stealth
Heavy - Rakshasa or Falconer
Assault - Devastator
Reinforcement/Reward - any of the alternates that were passed over and perhaps the Watchman

Have you seen the prices Wargaming.net uses for one tank or airplane? You get bupkis compared to what you get here. Not to mention the level of grinding is obscene.

all i see is wierd duck-bill.....miner/locomotive...thing.....the alex factor is the only reason that has me even considering the Viper as a thing....but ShadowCat.....

ShadowCat is/was my favorite medium from MW3/4 the balance and feel of it, decent speed and firepower, enough armor to take some abuse....sure we have plenty of other mechs that can do that in MWO, but....SHADOW CAT....hands down its the TBR of the Medium class....ok, maybe not...but still...i want one...with every burning desire, i want.....

can haz shadowcatz?

Are you kidding?!? I didn't go top tier pack yet, but I would do for the proposed all listed Clan packs (including the IIC pack, if the price is fair) and some IS packs too. OK, those pack are so tasty that I would go top tier for most of them.

Marauder is in the bottom of the list.

And is the 2nd most unlikely mech to be added to the game... :(

If they release nice Reseen* versions of the Macross mechs and HG doesn't complain, I think the legal battle will be over and the gates for using these mechs will be opened for all future MW/BT games. I know, it's like hoping for "world peace", but you got to have some dream.
