Damage and Screenshake? Yes!
Falling on the Ground (stun)? No....please just no!

If the "falling to the ground" is added, then please make it so that my teammates can't knock me over. It's annyoing as it is currently with idiots who stay in my personal space but if they start to knock me over, then I might even quit playing this game in the solo queue.

Assaults (aka the Atlas) couldnt get knocked down by anything except the dragon and that because it was bugged.

It didnt have anything to do wityh TT that I knew of,

Assaults got knocked down all the time. That was the best use for lights typically.

It made for stupid gameplay.

Weird, I plated them almost exclusively back then, I remember the drunken boxer pose they took when something tried to kd them

In case nobody noticed, the netcode is still horribad whenever two mechs merely bump into each other (warping around). In other words, the situation has not improved since the collisions in closed beta. When they are reintroduced, you won't be able to hit the guy on the ground because he'll be in a different spot than where you see him on your screen (just like in closed beta).

Edit: That being said, I hope they manage to make it work, I just have no idea how they'll manage it. It might also make light mechs even less popular to play than they already are. Sure, they're annoying to fight against, but the less people pilot light mechs, the slower the que is since they are the limiting factor in the matchmaker with the fewest number of players.

This kinda thing is weird. And complicated. PGI sucks at doing complicated things (on time at least). Knock downs would be better when combined and caused with Melee. Which isn't in game and won't be for at least another year.

it would be great for assault mechs! How many times have you been in your Stalker, with a STD300 engine, goes 62kph, torso twist speed and turning speed is just about Maxed as possible, yet its NOT ENUFF when a ******* Light mech can easily get BEHIND YOU, do an ALL STOP and BLOCK you from moving backwards trying to keep the lil ****** OFF your BACK. Meanwhile that light is giggling at you, doing 30 pt alphas into your rear CT armor and KILLS you with ease!

Now imagine if that light comes to an ALL STOP with knockdowns behind you. Your 85 tons backing up, KNOCKS the ****** DOWN... you run over him like some rabbit roadkill in the road, now the lil ****** is in FRONT of you and while hes staggering to get up for 3-5secs... you LET HIM HAVE IT with 4xSRM6, 4 MLs, 2 LLs..... BAM!!!!

IMHO, lights mechs are OP'd as **** when they are able to STICK TO YOUR BACK ARMOR LIKE GORILLA GLUE!!!

At least this way, you have a CHANCE at some form of DEF, if no TALL WALLS are behind you!!!

And this will make the vet light pilots on their toes trying to stay within the rear arc, but far enuff away from that big assault so they dont get plowed over!!!

-Thoughts guys?????

Oh, and I forgot to mention friendly knockdowns. That's something I had almost forgotten from closed beta. Think of all the times that friendly mechs collide with you during a normal game. When you spawn and your lance starts moving, people collide. They'd also be falling down. During the actual battle, you step out to fire and then back up to get back into cover really quick, but the ever present teammate behind you decided to step up to your back and is blocking your path. Knockdown.

Food for thought.

What they should really do....is make a requirement you have to be literally in the 180degree arc behind the enemy to knock him down. Hunchies/any fast turners would be unknockable. Could easily make the TW a 60 tonner for KD. If I get in behind a column of assaults I should be able to go bowling by running them all in the back in a fast mech.....then they'd learn to space out instead of cowering together like lemmings.

I loved CB bowling in my Cent running over Jenner and Atlai alike.

When the eject button for CW comes in they should bring back collisions....because really if 3+ mechs are knocking you down repeatedly to troll you they'd probably rip you a new one in 3 seconds if they were serious.

Yes you are correct, but I see it THIS WAY:

Friendly knockdowns will ENCOURGE PLAYERS to SPREAD OUT more, thus hopefully reducing "12mandeathballs" and players exploiting tourney weekends with Arty/Air strikes at a cluster ****** group standing in the gate of Mordor!!! lol

Thoughts? I think it will be "great"

As we all know, the game doesn't have enough heavies and assaults. Just look at the queues and the teams - nothing but endless ranks of light pilots, scoring insane damage, while poor Direwolves are lucky to hit 100 damage per game because of all those light mechs that sit in their rear arcs. And don't even get me started on the Locust - broken!

We badly need a mechanic to punish the weight class that is already played by almost nobody, and heavies and assault mechs need a buff. It's terribly rude that a medium or light poses a threat to my assault mech. They should just die with one shot, but now they don't and can even run around me! It's not fair - why, it's almost as if my lack of mobility is some sort of balancing mechanic for having more armor and weapons than anything else in the game! I'm an assault mech - nothing is supposed to be a threat to me!

It's a good thing assault mechs aren't allowed to work in teams with other mechs to keep lights off their tails and protect their blind spots. It's also a good thing assault mechs aren't allowed to shoot at lights. I guess the only solution is to add a horrible stun-lock mechanic that rewards the heavier mechs that everyone is already playing and punishes the lighter mechs that nobody plays.

</sarcasm>

Given how I start almost half my matches at 99% because some dezgra runs into me out of the gate, I don't see how adding a knock-down punishment for me spawning next to a bumbling tool is going to improve my game experience. As for it "teaching others to pilot better" - lol... if that were the case, people wouldn't still be crashing into each other at match start. And let's not even get started on all the griefing and trolling this mechanic will encourage.
