Also, I think falling speed needs to be tweaked as well. Those mechs fall over way to fast. Maybe the numbers are right, but it looks wrong. Like a toy falling over.
All maps have gravitational values approximately three times that of Earth's gravitational force. PGI did this intentionally because, from what I've heard, "'Mechs looked like they were falling too slowly." Real DERP moment there. This is also one of the causes behind a lot of the problems with jump jets in this game.
The 'Mechs are big, yes. Huge, in fact - much bigger than they ever were in BT. But they don't feel big at all. In fact, they feel pretty small. There's several causes to this. One is that the cockpits models are tremendously oversized in comparison to the 'Mech models - and this extend to the pilot in that cockpit model, both the pilot model itself and your own point of view as the player. Some others:
-oversized terrain features (e.g., plants that are as big to a 'Mech as a real plant would be to a human; buildings that, despite being sized well themselves, are spaced in a way that is meant for 'Mechs, not people)
-'Mech movement animations (torsos bounce around way too much, any human being inside would turn to jelly - this is compounded by the fact the cockpit model, by contrast, barely moves at all)
-overall map design (ravines, rocks, alleys etc that all "just happen" to fit 'Mechs perfectly)
-cramped cockpit models (case-by-case; a King Crab's cockpit, for example, should be ENORMOUSLY spacious on the inside - but it's not any more so than any other cockpit in the game, making the pilot model look like a giant as a result)
But, the 'Mechs themselves are indeed enormous.
Just LOOK at those Adders... Not that you would ever FEEL they were that big while playing the game. That's the problem.
