This is all getting a lot off topic now. How about we settle for: some people like the Clans, some the CapCon, others like FedSuns, some dislike Clans, some dislike CapCon and others dislike FedSuns. And everyone has their own reason for why they do like or dislike one or the other.

Someone post some copyrighted material to get us back on topic, please.

Hold on a second, I'm copying a few pages from a Catalyst Game Labs PDF as we speak.

The only times the clans were able to successfully run a planet is when they just left the planet in control of who held it before. I.E. not running the planet at all. They did a lot of that because as ULTIMATE WARRIORS they aren't trained in basic things like 'interacting with and organizing other humans' or 'things that don't involve killing other things or really terrible long-form poetry.' Nobody said football players are dumb, I said the concept of making what amounts to football clubs your main antagonists is dumb as hell. The clans would have worked better if they were kept mysterious like the Minnesota Tribe. Once you know all aboiut their dumb internal politics and insane eugenics and caste system they just seem really stupid and crazy.

Yeah, but that was inherently briliant as well... the clans that had to deal with seriously violent uprisings (barring ComStar's stupid plan), were almost exclusively the ones that tried to impose their version of government on a conquered planet. The Clans have a reasonably functional government for their home system: the civilians have a governing body that answers to the military caste, who mostly lets them do their thing unless something drastic has occurred.

But why impose that on planets that have been governing themselves just fine? If the only difference in the civilians life is that they sign a different beneficiary for their taxes, there's a good chance they won't give much of a damn.

On Topic - Capellan Confederation also smells funny and I like, totally heard they don't put out. Ever.

Think inbred, hill billy Davvies with a lisp and missing teeth... And you wonder why we won't put out.

PS. The smell is Davvy repellent.
