Hey, when it's something that require a video, I'm all for it. When it's click bait, I'm against it.
Granted.

Though venue should be considered too (like posting 12 'click bait' vids in the 'Fan Creations' forum... I don't see that as a problem, unless they're just bad...).

Niko made some mistakes, but overall, he was really helpful and generally tried to remain civil, despite all the slander thrown his way. He was a pretty good guy, and I hate to see him go.

I wish him luck in whatever pursuit he takes.

Whoever they pick, can it not be someone who feels they have to include 12 videos every time they post? (kind of exaggerated)

I see what you did there.

Even if they're bad. It's fan creation. It's passion from someone who enjoys the game. I don't mind that at all either. It's usually easy to tell the difference. You know what I mean... :D I don't need to go into further detail lol...

just look at all the bickering and crap they'd have to put up with, I wouldn't wish that one either one of them.
Well that's the thing, 'the bickering and crap' is what you let the community do until it spirals down into name calling (let any thread linger long enough and it either dies through lack of interest or dies from participant vitriol), at that point the manager(s) step in try and redirect the conversation back to a constructive course.

Unfortunately while IGP was involved we tended to see that guidance be heavy handed and not all that impartial. Too often people who were just vigorously expressing opinions and facts that conflicted with IGP's plans/goals received a very heavy handed censorship, while those who were espousing pro-IGP perspectives were getting away with a lot more than they should have.

Anyway... The differences post-IGP have been noticeable.

I too hope that Niko's departure wasn't solely based on pending health issues, and were more along the '...new opportunity elsewhere...' variety.

Ha! True, let's save our rotten tomato's for use on that forum...

From where I stood as regular forum person he did an excellent job. Didnt notice any mistake to be honest.

Am I the only one who doesn't think a reddit ban is bad? I mean, professionalism is not something I equate with reddit....

Makes me think that the second guy doing this job in less than 3 years means it a tough job and its not even hard labour.

Also where he was working can be a dangerous place I just hope he is still alive.

If it is, then this is a waste of time. It's just going to be a new CR every 6 months that they have to keep throwing under the bus to appease people who are constitutionally incapable of compromise or leaving gracefully.

It might work out if they do something to actually encourage new players, and grow the player base enough to not have to pander to the rich neckbeards every month; but they have a rather long way to go to do that and juggling CRs is not going to do much.

Well hopefully he lands on his feet - It's pretty stressful to leave/lose a job around this time of year - I don't care who you are or what you do.

All the best, Niko.

Well said. +1.

You missed a few things, then. Like why this twitter post was made.

@TheRoadbeer it's safe now. I said I would let you know.

It flew under the radar of most people because IIRC it wasn't on GD. I won't go into details, ask the people involved if you want to learn more. All I'll say is it's something Niko did that, IMO, was probably the final straw to the camel's back.

For my part I just wish him the best in his future endeavors and to not let this beat him down.

Good luck, Niko.

I can't believe people were so upset about what he did on Reddit but completely justified how they acted on Reddit and how they talked about PGI during the Transverse stuff, yet suffered no consequences... because it wasn't on MWO forums... BUT... they wanted him fired for how he acted on Reddit.

Wow, how many brain cells do you need to lose to make this comment? Pretty sure the big deal was what they did, not that they got banned and cant use the site anymore.
