How long it takes for it to core depends on the internal structure and backarmour. Almost mech in the game could do the same thing against frontloaded mechs. What you tell me is that none of you had situational awareness at that time. If all 3 of you had situational awareness that firestarter wouldnt have 3 kills. It would be dead. SInce you didnt get a shoot off you obviously wasn't paying attention. You know you can have 4 SSRM6 in a timberwolf? You are just one of the many QQ's. "I got killed by a [insert mech or weapon] please nerf it."

i dont think im QQing, if so im sorry i dont mean to,
it just it was very unexpected so early in a match,
i dont think weapons should be nerfed,
maybe balanced abit but not nerfed,

Seriously, if a mech that can do zero damage (or thereabouts) outside of 300 meters gives you THAT much trouble, you need to look at other reasons than "the mech is op".

I've argued from day 1 that clans aren't "op", but I've never
EVER
Even remotely thought they were "up" in any way.

So by that logic a 60 AC20 jenner that runs 500KPH would not be overpowered?

Firestarter-A is objectively OP, I own it and most of the firestarters.

I'm pretty sure 'within the game rules' is an unwritten principle when discussing game balance. Pretty sure.

The 8SPL build is cool and can be impressive in the right situation, but not OP unless you have a high-ping lag shield.
It makes me play a Firestarter other than the Ember, but other than that doesn't really get me all that jazzed up. On some maps it is pretty much useless unless your opponents are incompetent.

Most of the "problem" with this firestarter is players lacking situational awareness. PGI need to buff situational awareness on the not so good players

What we need to do is just Nerf everything down to Machine gun damage. That way bad players can feel like god for the first 2 mins of a match before they get killed anyway and just realize they suck and find a new game.

We have a situation were IS Lights OWN Clan Lights 1 on 1 indeed even 1 is vs 2 clan lights can be hairy, their weapons just recycle way faster than clan mechs, and having longer range/burn time on a clan mech is actually a detrimental thing (stand still and shoot so your full burn can score a hit a 450+ meters is akin to standing on a hill waving a flag screaming SHOOT AT ME.

Medium mechs IS have a harder time due to the SPLAT Crow or the VOMIT Crow, though the Dragon and Centurion have begun to put up a good fight.

Heavy mechs Clan have the EDGE, in-fact they probably step way above any IS Heavy I can think of but were as IS have about 4 Heavy mechs that can hit the average kill/damage/survival range, clans have o you guessed it ONE 75 ton mech, all the others Clan mechs in this weight category have either arms the size of Commando mechs or suffer from poor heat management/load outs (even with Omni pods)

Assault mechs are if I am honest about even, yes Dire-Whales can throw out a good THUMP, but catch that slow big blimp on its own (CRIMSON STRAIT, Drop ship spawn anyone????) and its a dead 100 tons.
IS mechs of this weight class survive longer than clan mechs due to having even a slightly better twist speed or movement speed, heck I saw an atlas survive to 5% before he died, think a stiff wind blew him over mind you once the lasers dried up and he died.

Overall IS are in a good place, I have 40+ IS mechs and they hold their own or excel (light/medium especially) and about the same number of clan mechs (I rarely pilot anything other than a DW, TW or a SC, and you know why, the other clan mechs though fun, do not cut the weight class they are slotted into)

I do not believe that all mechs are created equal, and should never be, but leaving clan mechs too long without counterbalancing the IS Quirks will ultimately hurt this game and the community.
