WOW,....PGI,..you need to think about Challenges Better!
I can not count the times i have seen people shooting their own Teammates to get a Kill and run off and hide,..OR Blow Arms Legs etc off Team Mates!!!!!

Had it happen to me several times. I was closing on my kill, it was the last mech in the game, and one of my "teammates starts shooting me in the back. Unfortunately, the best I was able to get for a screen shot was a pic of the score being 11-5, and my ENTIRE F-ING VIEW AREA SURROUNDED BY RED. Right after that, the mech that I was shooting killed me, but as I died, you could see that the Rear and Front Armor was gone, and the structure went red. When I started, the rear armor was UNTOUCHED. Kind of hard to win a point when your team shoots up your back and internal structure, and the enemy kills you with his last weapon (an IS SMALL LASER at 160M) because your "teammates"chewed up your internal structure to try and kill you to steal the kill.

I stand by my statement a couple of pages ago that I would love for someone to go to PGI and kick the idiot or idiots that thought up this challenge square in the jewelz.

Took me 81 matches, and finished at 1:20AM PST this morning.

Out of curiousity, to all of you who didn't qualify this time around, how might the above change have affected your score this time around?

How many matches did you have where maybe you might have won, AND survived, AND have had 4-6 or more asisists, but no kills?

How many points closer might you have been? And for those of you unaware of the graph, you should be able to scroll down and see your stats for this challenge near the bottom of this link here - https://mwomercs.com/tournaments

I did qualify, but I would have probably qualified sometime Saturday evening, and then had a whole day to work with the new mech and get used to it. I had 18 matches that would have qualified with the average of your formula (5 Kills OR assists, win, and survive.) I watched at least 25 or 30 mechs that I got awarded max damage at kill for, but only got an assist from.

Hmm........I did take out 6 mechs in one game when we were 3-6 down and eventually won 12-9.

Completed the challenge in 50 games all done with mediums. Could have reduce the number of games if I haven't over extended myself at times.

I'll admit, when I saw the challenge criteria (namely the survival part) I just decided not to bother logging in this past weekend. My feelings have already been described on other threads floating about, but suffice it to say I feel this was a poor choice of requirements.

Always good to try new things in the challenges, but... please don't do this again.

Again, I also enjoyed the challenge. I primarily play PUGS and for this challenge it was all PUG matches.

Earned the Victor after Friday night/Saturday evening drops with the 58th game.

Used Shadowhawk/Highlander/Thunderbolt/Jenner

After getting the Victor, I continued dropping with the new Victor a few times then when to the Centurions (to get extra module slot).

20 qualifying matches out of the first 58 matches - Victor
107 Total matches Fri/Sat/Sun

35 qualifying matches out of 107 (Walking Dead came on :) )

Won 68 / 107 ;Died in 23 of those we won and had 10 games we won where I had no kills.

35 qualifying + 23 died + 10 no-kills = 68 winning drops.

PS, made sure things were taken care of Sat and Sun mornings (including giving niece driving lessons - hands shaking...), plus I am a half century old as of 11/25 :)

thats good news RIP
I half to say I saw that to but all so saw players helping others get a kill its funny to see mech's standing there after disarming and disabling a mech like wolfs waiting for a player to get there.

68 matches to get the prize. Did most (13) of mine in the hated 3L, the others were in my 5xLRM5 KTO-18. If the Bog wasn't in the rotation so heavy would have done it earlier. Not nice to have a challenge and play most of my matches on a map I hadn't had a chance to even drop into previously.

Although I liked the premise of the challenge because it was difficult, I too saw a lot of shooting through teammates to get kills. I was TKed twice on Saturday in the span of 4 drops. Enough to make me stop for the day. But I did see a lot of teamwork and selflessness. Groups hunting that last elusive mech and letting the guy who didn't get a kill take the coup de grace.

Please extend the deadline. I put in a great deal of effort toward this and would like to finish.

Wait - were you guys tracking this stuff, or is there an actual screen you can see where it lists it? I'm curious what got me there (I suspect mostly my Misery and 4LPL build 3F).

The tournoments screen.

I got to say as a light pilot this was hard. Took 89 drops, some team drops and some pug drops. When going in team drops of only 2 players I seen way to many on the same team not sharing kills. Not once did they ask if any others needed a kill in chat. Maybe when they have their unit on coms they only cared to help them. 5 games surviving with Victory and no kills. Sucks when you do your job as a light you don't get any of the reward. Oh and yeah, stop shooting the lights that scout for you!! We are not the enemy and that armor could have kept me alive. 5 games where I got kills and could not stay alive when there was a victory.

89 games to 20 points
50 victories
25 games survived (All wins)
38 games with kills

Mechs Quallified with:
1 CN9-AC
3 JR7-D(F)
10 JR7-F
4 KFX-D
2 TBR-Prime

I did stay for 12 more drops with a teammate so he could get his last points.

played 65 games . i liked the concept but i do not have the time to play the 100+ games it wood of taken me to get this so most likely will be setting out of any more like this. the survive part with win do not work with how i play . i am a average player but will give it my all even when i am just down to a zombie mech which is why i die more times than anything else i will cover frends with the zomby mech .

I only cared for the premium. Had I gotten the Victor, I would have sold it for the `Mech Bay alone and used the C-bills to a new Clan `Mech. Perhaps an Adder Prime. :)

I wonder whether they'll carry over our points from last weekend.

He tweeted later that it couldn't be extended after all, so don't get too excited.

The barriers to me, and apparently others, were (in order):
Win - this depends on the team after all and about 10% of my matches were with me as the last survivor against 3 or more. In a damaged Jenner or Spider those are long odds. Those were all losses. Team losses were about 56% of my total (55 out of 98).
Survive. In slightly less than half of my wins I didn't make it to the end of the match. I was playing each match out to the end, and not hiding. (failed to survive 18 out of 43 wins or 42%)
Kills. Only 5 matches where the team won and I survived but didn't have a kill. Only 2 of those with more than 6 assists. (5 out of 25 wins where I survived or 20%)

My one suggestion for any upcoming similar versions of this event PGI, would be remove the "kill + assist + survive + win" criteria, and make it "4-6+ kills OR assists in any combination + survive + win". I really would love to see how that one pans out.

Out of curiousity, to all of you who didn't qualify this time around, how might the above change have affected your score this time around?

How many matches did you have where maybe you might have won, AND survived, AND have had 4-6 or more asisists, but no kills?

*Edited to add link to Russ's tweet.

´@Rip: Due to the abysmal win rate of my teams and overall results: Your formula would have meant that I would have gone down from 4 to only 3, because the change would have added ONE AND disqualified TWO more. :( It is extremely hard to get even 4 assists, if the enemy team typically loses around 3 mechs, total... :( I played numerous game that had such weird results that in some cases even the winning team did not have ANYONE qualify, the enemy claiming the last kill having 0 assists...

To be honest, unless teamwork is somehow magically improved during next weekend, I am going to stay disqualified even after next weekend. I am not certain I even want to try, which is a pretty sad state of affairs. :( MWO is one of only three games that I play a lot, the other two being World of Warcraft and War Thunder.

I know I am a not good pilot, but playing almost 90 games and getting only 4 points is, quite frankly, depressing.

EDIT: My idea, which would cut down on "cowardice", "kill stealing" and other bad effects is to make "history be written by victors":

Eliminate the need to survive, if you get at least one kill AND assist OR eliminate the need to get a kill (but must get assist(s), IF you survive the win. In other words, one can die bravely and "be remembered" or survive to "fight another day". This would also make lighter mechs more viable play options.

The major breakpoint here was the fact that one had to satisfy 4 conditions in the same game. Yes, there are good pilots around who do this with ease, but one has to remember that the difference between, for example, me and the people who routinely place in the top 50 in the tournaments is measured in light years, not seconds...

I KNOW people are going to laugh at my stats and say to themselves: "That guy SUCKS!", but I am posting my stats anyway:

Kills / Death 54 / 546 (15 of the kills were achieved during this challenge)
Wins / Losses 230 / 364 (also have a couple of draws)

May I ask where exactly is the graph? I must be blind, but I can't see it.

Its not a graph. Players manually calculated the data from the bottom part of that page which lists which mech was played, kills assists, deaths and wins before the green or red marker for the challenge point (or frustrating loss).
