I picked up an old copy of BattleDroids at a game shop in '91. Apparently George Lucas had the term 'Droids' copywritten at some point and sued them until they changed the name to BattleTech.

And my favourite mech in general is the Uziel or the Belial variant. However there are probably heavy mech's that I like more.

In MW1, my favorite mech was the Warhammer. I prefered having more long range firepower than my lancemates in their BattleMasters. However, the Rifleman was very nice as well. I found the Marauder to be too vunerable.
In MW2, I liked the Hellbringer.
In MW3, I used a Shadow Cat.
In MW4, I used a Loki or Hellspawn. I was also very good with the Raven.

I think the first MW game I played was MW2: Mercenaries back in highschool, which developed my interest in the TT.

My favorites out of those are the Jenner IIC in the first place, followed by the Hunchback IIC.
Seriously.
A favorite non-Clan 'Mech is the Archer.
I first started playing MechWarrior a few years ago; I actually migrated from Starsiege, when I saw the old trailer for MechWarrior 3 and fell in love - everything from weapon special effects to the cockpit and HUD details was just amazing in comparison to that which I was used to; though, surviving a long battle is not always easy without shields, which the Herculans from Starsiege possess.
Both games feature a lot of universe lore, which I like.

The First time i met in Battle was against a 60t Riflemen. I didn't knew it has almost Paperthin back armor, i decided a Death from above and lost. Afterwards i knew soon much enough about mechs, that this never happend to me again.
Afterwards played a Shadow Hawk for a long time.
At Present i am used to play a Turkina 95t Clan Machine in the Board Game/Roleplaying setting.
Mechwarrior II was the First Computer Game I played on the series, because my first PC was a little bit later. The Amiga before prevented from Playing the first BattleTech Computer Games.
Now i almost can't wait to step back into Battle with Mechwarrior Online. Board Game ist played regularly since i was 15 till now on.

I own the 25th anniversary boxed set but have yet to play a game.
My favorite mech overall is the Orion. I therefore also a fan of the Perseus.

First time playing Mechwarrior? MW2 demo with ye olde software rendering under ms-dos. Back in the day, MW2 was *mind blowing*. You had big stomping mechs with complex shaded graphics, you had a cockpit that rocked around you, you had a dozen different HUD readouts you could change. Want a rear view? Satellite view? Want to turn everything into an enhanced wireframe? Can do!

Puma (pesky, little, annoying thing that pops assaults)
MadCat Mk II in Clans version (epic firepower, epic agility)
Demolisher tank (because it's not a Mech and yet it can roll over nearly any mech out there)
First game? Mechwarrior 3
