Fav all time Mech is the Phoenix Hawk. Very fast, moderate armor and could bring some pain. It was also able to overheat nicely if you worked it a bit. I played TT from around '88 when I witnessed it being played at a comic convention. From that time on I was hooked. A close second in the mech catagory is the Victor, with honorable mention to the Thor/Summoner.

Fav is the Uziel, varient with 2 PPCs. Fast Med Mech that can pack a punch. In Mechassult 2 I could take on Ragnaroks 5-6 at a time, I think my record for kills was like 250-300 in the hoard mode.

Favorite Inner Sphere Mech circa 3050 would probably be Enforcer, favorite Clan Mech circa 3050 is definitely Storm Crow. Fast, well armed and armored, and cool running. So versatile you just don't need anything else.

My friend and I used to go to the University of Utah way back in the day(1988) just to play the original Mechwarrior game. Those were the good ole days..... Just out of highschool with no majro responsibilities enjoying the life. I didn't have a favorite Mech until the later games came out and it would have to be the Atlas. It was nice to be able to obliterate pretty much anything I came accross. The Jenner would have to be my second favorite with their speed and agility.

I started playing Btech when second edition came out, but didn't have a favorite until 3rd edition. I'd have to say the Archer was probably my favorite mech then.
As for MechWarrior, I started with the original. Loved the Rifleman and the Shadow Hawk in that game. Go to max range of your AC5, zoom in, target an enemy mech, and fire. The shots always tracked directly to the head. Way awesome on defensive missions.

When I first played Battletech it was in an after school club and I was 14. Played a TDR- 5S Thunderbolt (65th Heavy, now unfortunatly one of the Unseen) It's still my favorite, and I still use them in my heavy lances, upgraded to modern standards of course :)

3 years later I was playing Crescent Hawks Inception on my brothers super expencive PC ;)

I first played Mechwarrior 2, I can not remember how old i was however, I then continued with Mechwarrior 4.

My favorite mechs are numerous so i list my favorite of each weight class.

Assault mech: Sunder, for its higher mobility and torso turn rate compared to others, it manouvers as if it were a lighter chassis while still mainting good armor and firepower.

Heavy mech:Timber Wolf (Mad Cat), for its good overall performance in both speed and firepower at all ranges (plus it has an awesome look to it). (The Thanatos XT is a tie with its complete 360 rotation, heavy armor and excellent weapon loadout for Ballistic weapons).

Medium Mech: Uziel, simply because it was the first mech i got into when i began playing this series.

Light Mech: Cougar, an excellent loadout of weapons abilities and armor rating while still mainting great speed. You have got to appreciate those clan mechs.

To pass the time i am still currently playing Mechwarrior 4:Mercenaries.

My favorite mech is the command mech Hunchback IIc and the first time I played Battle Tech was when it first came out at the gaming store. I was a sophmore in high school and would put off Biology homework to play with a friend of mine. I still got an A and my friend failed. He should have done his homework, As for MW, I played it when it came out to. Same thing for Cresent Hawks Inception ... please, please, please let me have the "Blazing Inferno".

Now, some of you will turn your nose up at the Hunchie IIc but when we played tabletop you always called which mech you were playing as. What can I say, we are nerds. Did the same thing in college and later when I was an officer. You know, it is suprising how many knuckle dragger types will play battle tech when you start talking tactics and such.

So, you want to come for me? Say hello to a lance of Hunchback IIs when you come gunning for me. Fast, jump jets and plenty of shots to the back. My mech might get destroyed, I might get killed. However, the battlefield will be litered with your dead. Like we used to say back in the day, "Kill the meat, save the metal. We got a contract [for the salvage]."

I know it's clan, and I know the base loadout makes it very specialized in its role...but my favorite mech has always been the Behemoth. If properly supported, it's going to put large holes in opposing mechs at extreme range with the 2x Gauss and AC/5. Secondary armament isn't even worth mentioning though. I hope it finds its way into a game at some point in time...the poly and motion graphics for it would be a nightmare though, considering the length of the three primary weapons. It's a big assault that's not going anywhere fast, but the design reminds me of a Battleship or an A-10 Warthog...designed around the weapons they carry and everything else secondary. The weapons are the reason for its existance and it doesn't have need of hands or anything else pointless for long range combat.

As you can tell, I've been playing Battletech longer than there have been computer games, so I'll leave it at that ;)

Warhammer all the way.

Started with MW2 at a friends place and was instantly hooked. Bought every MW game I could get my hands on since, including table top versions. Dove into the books and the TV show (painful to watch now that I'm older lol). Glad to see this game is making a come back in two forms, MWO and MWT.

My favorite mech is probably the Phoenix Hawk(3K variant), I can't remember if I played the board game first or BattleTech: Crescent Hawk's Inception, but I loved them both. I was probably around 10 for both.

My favorite mech is (surprise) the Summoner/Thor. I first started playing back when MW2 came out. I'd played flight sims with my Dad as a young kid, but when I was 9 or 10, I went to a friends house and watched/played MW2. After that, I got MW2:Mercs and then MW3 when it came out. I really liked the Summoner, so I took it as my gaming handle and have been using it for the past 15 years or so.

For an Inner Sphere mech I think it'd have to be the Warhammer, it's so iconic.

Shadow cat, all the way. I had a variant with 7 ER Med lasers and an LB10x with jump jets. erasing Daishis in tournaments was my favorite pass time.
