I'm finding this weekend fun too.

Sure, there's been a couple of matches where people have conspicuously hung back; that's generally meant a loss. But for the most part it's been fine. And, not that it bothers me, relatively light on LRMs, for those who like to complain about such things.

Edit: Additionally, I think the kill AND assist is the right option. In the previous tournaments, where assists counted for "more" than kills, it heavily encourages target spamming. In this layout, you have to stay focused at least once, so (in my experience) the best way to play has been the "right" way to play -- aggressively, but not recklessly.

I'm enjoying the same as every tournament! Then again, I always play the game the same tournament or not. I just play and have fun. If I get a prize, awesome.

I like it, when its down to the wire, your CT armor is gone, last few players on each side left, it gets pretty intense. Sure its been very frustrating at times but there is nothing wrong with an event being challenging.

Had some of the best nail biting ever during this event.

A challenge should be... challenging.

I understand some folks finding it frustrating, but I think they expect to get it fairly quickly maybe? You have all weekend, just play normal and you will get it.

I think it is fun, I spent a few hours last night and got it just by playing like always.

i have yet to get 1 point,
its hard to win in pug when your team cowers at the first signs of damage,
like the even but the survival aspect of it its making it hard on me,
i usually will give my life for a team win, and now if i do no point,
so its very tedious, hopefully ill get 1 point at least,
but i doubt it my K/D is 0.2, so i dont get kills,

It is their fault.
When you design something in an mmo game, one of the factors you take into account is player behaviour. You have to in some way at least, shape player behaviour-which makes future additions/changes more effective.
All this survive condition does is make the playerbase even more timid and cowardly than it already is.

if you go like that then you have to give out everything for free because the majority of players is just too stupid to play a simple teamgame.
where would we go from there.....

they made this challenge to include one kill, one assists, a win and survive so you simply cant runa round in a light rushing assists (liek last challenge with the 20 points per assists... what a crap that was) or the camping-heavy kill-orientated challenges that been worse after all.

BUT people dont think farther than their ego allows. they think after they got a kill and a assists they have to survive.
thats something i cant blame PGI for.
i blame nothing but the mentality of the CoD/CS/battlefield infested gaming community. games went so **** and hyped that you can throw out unfinished completely bugged and lame games like titanfall and people hump on it. you dont even get different weapons per race. no diversity. even counterstrike used different weapons for terrorist and CT's.
seriously. 10 or 15 years ago no one would have played a game like titanfall.

thats how low people got. graphics and nothing behind. destiny is almost the same, seen it at a friend.
horrid bugs everywhere. it made MWO closed beta SHINE!

At least so far, this is the first tourney for me that has actually improved the team play. I have enjoyed the extra nerve and sometimes frustration, but over all there has been some really interesting game endings etc.

Also, for once the MM has not packed up for me during tourney. Yesterday evening I dropped 16 times, won 8 and got qualified in 6. Sounds about exactly what you would expect from good matchups. Sure, many of them ended 12-2 or 2-12, but even those games were in balance for some time before one team folded. It was never the 2 minute rolf-stomps. The most memorable from yesterday was when I found myself and Glythe alive, none of us had weapons, and on the other team there was only a Nova left, fully armed, but with only one leg. 6 minutes left on the timer, we were 1 up on points and had to wait it out shut down in different corners of the map. Turned out a win, partly because I think he did not know we were both unarmed. Sounds boring but was actually quite funny. :)

Point is, I really enjoyed so far that you really want to stay alive now. Haven't cared so much since R/R was in, usually it's just live some and die some as long as you kill something.... this has really worked for me!

You are not alone, loving it.

I get the feeling that a lot of young ones, who grew up with the "everybody gets a trophy" mindset, cannot grasp this concept.

i had plenty of fun running with a lance of good teamplayers that knew how to play.
i had literally no fun running solo. why? goddamn there are so many players that have no idea.....
cant play as team, cant move, cant think a single bit, get shredded by lrms just because they dont use the map or terrain.

i have no idea how i could have fun in the solo queue for so long....

alot of people there are just not able to learn out of their mistakes and even if you point that out that they should support more or kindly advise them to move a bit forward all you get is a rant. even if you lose. even if you already lost with the way they play.

sometimes i feel like this is zombieland. hilarious if it wouldnt be so bad to have zombies.....

i dont tryhard.
i just play hard whatever may come. whatever it may take.
i already know that alot of players here have problems with players that are not satisfied with the status quo or their skill. players that seek the improvement while others claim to *just wanna have fun* and simply look for excuses to suck.
i know that normal internet-hero's and forumcriers have problems with people that have a challenging attitude.

so deal with it. we are here and we gonna say out whats failing. if you cant deal with criticism then leave the poor trolling aside. it has no use.

I'll do that, when you quit pinging "#carryharder" at the end of every pug game you lose.

OK?

Having to do it 20x turns it into a painful grind. 5-10x would have been a good number.

Probably one of the events that had more meaning, and fun.

The bad play seems to be infectious as well. After you lose out on getting a point because 3-4 of your teammates stopped supporting the battle and retreated to safety, you want to do the same thing just so you can hurry up and get your victor and stop wanting to pull your hair out.

My solution to this is to try to deny these folks a win by dying in a blaze of glory and create a tie. <maniacal   >
