So no, stopping playing and supporting is stupid. BUT it's not PGi's fault, neither the requirement's one.

Try telling that to the folks in the other thread. In there, it's all PGI's fault.

Every match, as soon as some one gets 1 kill and 1 assist, they go hide in a corner. These matches are TERRIBLE.

Just had a great match, towards the end team chat was filled with questions of who still needed a kill, and it wasn't a roll-over fight either, we wond 12-9.

The end was pretty exciting, I was the last team mate killed by a sweet move by a Orion who dropped in and killed me with a snap-shot.

Really enjoying this tournament, and the effects it's having on end-match behavior.

10 hours of total mwo playtime to get a victor and a mechbay with it? im fine with that lol.....Not sure y people complain so hard about a challenge event...especially when it involves giving away a mechbay with an assault in it...

My first 4 hours only 8 games qualified.....the next day my next 4 hours i was on a losing streak n only 3 games qualified.....the next 2 hours was a win streak n got my last 9 points. So really, it feels like a normal challenge n people complain just because it wasn't easy enough. I'm sure there are a lot of people who got it faster than me xD

Free Premium Time is nice but I've seen people shutting down a lot more.

my new stats are in 70+ matches still no points,
i ether get a kill but i get killed by the end,
i win and get everything but a kill,

i usually give my life for a team victory but now,..
i play a support and ive tried everything i can think of,
everything but the x2 Gauss meta build for the DireWolf,

im an average player i mostly win 65%+,
but my K/D is like 0.2-0.3,

ill keep trying but its looking bleak right now

Maybe go for a Medium mate and see if that will change up your luck, the playstyle change for weight my do the trick.

Good luck!

Had a bunch of great matches last night, tonight should be good too.

People complaining just need a scapegoat for "the suckage"

It's an embarassing condition so naturally nobody will admit they have it

:D

You jsut described thousands of threads and posts over the last 2 years sir :P
"this is "op"
"nerf this"
"this is "up"
"elo made me do it"
"groups touched me"
"new players made me lose"
and the list goes on and on and on. These tears are more delicious than any in recent memory though :P

Yes, stormcrow embodies all the qualities this challenge tests:
Speed to get in firing position.
High firepower to get the target dead.
Clan XL.
Great Hitboxes.
Speed to get in safe places when the kill is secured.

These are my stats for this event:

Total rounds: 54
Rounds won/lost : 36/18
Kills/deaths: 53/30
Estimated game time: 9 hours
Longest streak without qualifying point: 13 rounds
Longest streak with qualifying points: 4 rounds

I had to work my ass off for it. 54 fu*king rounds is a lot and despite the fact that my team literally had a win/loss ration of 2 I still hadn't lived to stake the claim for almost half of these rounds.

The challenge was great, it really was a challenge and I loved that it made people more aggressive. We actually lost a few rounds because people wussed out, but overall you could see people going for blood and it made the game more dynamic and lively.

To be honest I don't care about those events, but I only did this one because I actually wanted to buy this very Victor only a few days prior, but chose not to so it was a gift from the gods to get this.

And to be even more honest, I like the fact that not every single person participating will get it. There should be awards for people who do well. I mean you get the free premium time for absolutely no reason, so you already get benefit from it.

The more I listen to some of you guys the more I think you grew up in environments that gave out participation trophies and no one ever came last. You get free sh*t and still you find a reason to complain. ALWAYS! And at the end of the day it's just a *****ng Victor. It was in the Trial mech group for ages, if you didn't play it then you probably won't need it now.

It took me 52 matches, half as a two man group, half in the solo queue. Upon reflection, and to your original question: short answer: yes, long answer: yeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss...

Thanks for this thread, I'm having fun. Through I do dislike these long games. Sometimes I just go do something for the first 3-4 minutes of a game so I don't die of boredom staring at the walls (I play a brawler). I have yet to come back to see even the paint chipped off my mech.

Hmmm let's see:

Tourney reward? Very good

Incentive to play? 1st point gives me 3 days premium time, essentially making all my other matches (win or lose) worthwhile.

Playstyle encouraged? "Pull your weight (1 kill), help your team, survive and win" - so pretty much, exactly what everyone should be trying to do anyway

Ease of participation? Everyone can join in, no groups, companies, special signup process needed

Ease of judging progress? Excellent

PGI's scorecard: 9.5/10 (docked half a point because someone forgot to put half-nekkid dancing girls cheering us on... god knows how they missed that one)

Tourney has encouraged me to try to add more discipline and caution into my playstyle (normally on the 'brash and impetuous' side), change some builds in order to be more survival oriented, and focused on goals that are applicable to every match.

The only downside I have seen is a -few- players with bad attitudes and poor skills; basically what you see in solo queue any day of the week.

Ignore the whiners, PGI; good tournament, good fun, good practice and job well done!
