I like a challenge, I like something that challenges my skill and ability. Sadly this event isn't it. It actively encourages people to play in the most timid fashion possible. HOW can that be good?

35 matches, around 6.5 hours.
55 kills
12 deaths
Rounds won:21
Rounds lost:14
Longest non qualifying streak:4
Longest qualifying streak:7

Did I enjoy doing it? No. Walls of cowardly, timid play from my teams. Watching huge assaults RUN from a single light. Watching people block others to use them as a shield. Watching whole packs of mechs refusing to advance even when outnumbering the enemy at least 2 to 1 and so on....
As for earning it did I? I don't feel I did, I hung around spamming lrms at things. KTO 18 the ultimate competition leech.
We need events that DO NOT encourage selfish play. Congratulating PGI on this isn't a good idea, the general playerbase is already one of the most hesitant, timid groups I have ever seen and encouraging them to be even more so isn't very good at all.
I'd like to see rewards based upon what the team as a whole does rather than the individual.

It's annoying how 7 assists without one killsteal doesnt even net you a win.

It's been a brutal challenge, but overall enjoyable. I've noticed a 50/50ish split in match behavior. It seems like half of the time the team seems really close knit, and everyone tries their hardest to lay down the damage and wipe the enemy, and we will win with 2-3 losses. The other half are just LRM boats sitting back trying to nab a kill, or people who are too afraid to take damage and potientially die. These are the games where we get creamed.

Yup, very similar experience for me. Makes me really appreciate when we work together. Did you see any Guardian angel Victors towards the end? I have played with three now, very cool, in this tournament it's like have a squad mate who thinks he is invincible and really pushes it while your being steady and careful, very new experience, tons of fun.

I don't understand how people can whine as much as they do on the forums about this challenge. The top prize here is 4025 MC, compare that to the Nr 1 reward for winning a tournament weekend.... here EVERYONE who puts their mind to it can be tournament winners x2 in MC-reward + getting 3 days of premium time.... dear Lord!

I haven't played, took one look at the challenge requirements and thought "I've got better things to do". A perfect run of 20 points from 20 matches would take about 3.5 hours (assuming 10 minutes per match). But I don't get a point if I kill someone, my team wins but I died, I don't get a point if we win, I survive but I didn't kill anyone, I obviously don't get a point from games I played badly in ... it could easily take double that amount of time. And the reward was a mech that is basically the same as one I already own but with a bonus to CBills.

I decided it would be more useful to start my Dragon Age 2 replay that I still need to do before Inquisition.

At least so far, this is the first tourney for me that has actually improved the team play. I have enjoyed the extra nerve and sometimes frustration, but over all there has been some really interesting game endings etc.

Point is, I really enjoyed so far that you really want to stay alive now. Haven't cared so much since R/R was in, usually it's just live some and die some as long as you kill something.... this has really worked for me!

The combination of all of these conditions is quite difficult to achieve when something like match outcome is most often completely out of your hand.

So, no, I absolutely do not enjoy having to play an estimated 5 to 10 matches for a point I need 20 of... Don't have the time nor patience to play this many games combined with a perceived change towards "you are on your own" mentality.

Best to write off the goal to get your free Mech, appreciate the gifted Premium time, and come back after the event.

This is a challenge that can get you a reward. It's not a penal colony. If you don't want to reach for the reward, just don't.
