Your play style should always include "survive the match".

No, if your death is what it takes for your team to win (going down with good damage and kills dealt beforehand) you should sacrifice your pixel life and do it. That selfless, team play and win oriented behavior should never be punished.

I'm sure taking a heavyor assault mech helps in getting scores; I know I wouldn't want to do this in a Mist Lynx. That's just torture.

It's only good for trolling and the occasional kill steal. :(

I do not play that well to have a good shot. Especially with finals being only in a few weeks. I just to not have the time.

Of course challenges MUST be challenging, and this one nailed it.

I wonder if PGI will ever make a 'challenge' that promotes good plays.

This challenge actually reinforced my suspicion that the player base is the problem.

It takes a player with some lose screws to use a Mist Lynx during this challenge. I'm fine with that. :D

I just finished it after 86 (just counted them to confirm) matches in the last 2 days.

How god awful. It was only challenging because you had to depend on the the rest of your team. It wasn't a personal challenge for me to get the Kill and assist and then to survive. It was challenging to get a queue where the rest of your team would even try to work together as a team. Those 20 matches that I did manage to bag all of the requirements, I thank the rest of my team for communicating and working together.

It was a truly maddening "challenge"

If I was as total **** to you in the solo queue during the challenge, I apologize. I know I became the very thing I'm against in this game. It was hard. Think about it.... 86 matches.... just so I could win 20 of them... wat... I will surely evaluate the next challenge and how much it will take a toll on my soul before I take part.

The rules of the challenge were [1] at least 1 kill, [2] at least 1 assist, [3] survive, and [4] win. You got only 3 out of 4.

Becasue apparently, some guy in an Oxide decided to scoop every kill.

I had one leg, was steadily killing an LRM stormcrow, and BAM, OXIDE.

Seriously. One person with more damage than me. I would be less pissed if my weekend hadn't been "Fix house from waking to evening."

Seriously, if most matches were like that, I'd probably be a bit peeved too. But if it's a one time only thing, I'd just shrug it off.

Either way, though, I wouldn't blame the challenge, especially if it was actually more challenging than previous ones.

Ok, Between that and "Lets all stand in one spot as far away from the enemy as possible while still being in missile range after the Raven puts up a UAV OVER THE ENTIRE ENEMY TEAM" I'm honestly ******* so done with this.

Just. How the **** are these people still breathing? Is that why they're so bad? They have to actually think or they suffocate?

I feel terrible for PGI for having to cater to this horrendous, whiny, entitled playerbase. Yikes.

To make this clear, I'm less pissed about the tourney, and more pissed with the players.

Like, just had a match where the single friendly ECM 'mech went to the far side of Rivercity from the team, and was calling targets that where through the citadel from the rest of the team.

Like, really, who the hell is going to focus on that target? What are you doing?

Well this challenge WAS a challenge. I dont understand why is everyone so pissed. That (C) Victor comes with DHS, Endo and XL 350 which, with weapons, costs something around 17M C-Bills. So go back and remember what were the requirments in those challenges where PGI gave us 6.5M C-Bills. I hope that every troll now understands that this challenge is hard because it has to be hard thanks to the rewards. Hell even those 3 days of premium are worth a lot and you can get it in 5 games.

For those that rant about players behaving like ****. This all falls on us, players. No matter what challenge and what rules PGI makes. Every challenge is LRM fest with cowards. This is our, players, problem not PGI's. If players need to behave like ****** to "get their Victors" well... it tells something about you guys. If said player cant accept the fact that he is not as good as he thinks... well someone is entitled here. ;) It took me 70 games to get my Victor. I did it in group que in party of 4 to 12 players and you know what? We played brawl. Nothing but brawl. Just for record i piloted only:

Griffin: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9c578192e752cb4
DDC: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...852d7d244b41be9

So.. no LRMS, no sniping and no cowardice. Just brawl.

Searching for UAVs is my new hobby. I shoot down at least 3-5 every game. Timberwolf has a great visibility inside the cockpit and ERML have a nice reach. I noticed most people like to use UAVs right before I kill them. Maybe they want some revenge from beyond the grave?

BTW. The Timbergod is the perfect mech for this kind of challenge. Long range, high alpha, great hitboxes. At 50% health it's just beginning to warm up. My record was 15% health and still had my Gauss :-) Which is great for "securing" kills, BTW. Managed to finish the challenge in 42 matches & mastered two variants while playing.

Getting at least one kill and surviving basically ensures you contribute to your teams win. 1 kill + dying basically means you didn't really add much to the victory.

The best solution would be to make the requirements be (1 kill/assist + survive) OR (2 or more kills + 1 assist).

well challanges are a challange, and not everoyne is going to make them. also we had soem challanges about gathering points for assits and kills and spottings, those were doable even for the lesser skilledplayers and newbies.

TW is the most versatile mech in the game, that's for sure. But I got better KDR using Stormcrows or Dragon "DPS" 1N.
