Finished a match on Friday and jumped out of my socks. Had a 6k XP match in a Mad Cat. The kills, assists and damage were nothing unexpected but the spotting assists....

19?

19!

Lose my arms after the first spot in a Mist Lynx. Think I will scout with the Mad Cat from now on.

I disagree. The 18kph more the Stormcrow, Adder, and Kit Fox have make them better as a "scout".

107kph will let you outrun a few things....not going to get out of real trouble with just 89.

EDIT forgot ice ferret---the fastest Clam mech.

Timberwolf Scout Lances huh?

The Mist Lynx does a great impression of a pinata though.

I guess they would be faster than a Steiner scout lance.

Mist Lynx needs more than arm and leg crit quircks but they'd be a start.

I am not the best light pilot in the world by far. I do try to be open minded.

That said, I firmly believe the Mist Lynx is just about the worst mech in the game right now, period.

Yes, I know you can have good games i them ... why just today I had a 3 kill match. Woohoo. The mech is just horrid ... can't take a hit, carries pitiful armament ... and is freakishly slow.

I know folks call the Warhawk the Peacedove and the Adder the Badder ... but this one is really far far far worse than any of the other clan mechs. Maybe we should call it "Missed, Stinks".

I personally think they need to decrease the sensor range of heavies and assault to 500m-600m so lights and mediums have more of a role as scouts. Because then the bigger mechs would have to rely on smaller ones to spot enemies.

I think that sensors should probably be based more on actual mech tonnage (and/or quirks) than just weight class. We've already seen with things like class matching and 3/3/3/3 that assuming all mechs in a class to be equal doesn't end well unless they're actually equal (which they aren't).

So, a Commando should be harder for an enemy to detect than something like a Jenner or whatever, because it already has serious disadvantages by being lighter. Also, some mechs might get quirks to further differentiate their sensor roles, such as Ravens probably being stealthier (at least the 3L variant, not counting the usage of ECM) than other 35 ton lights.

Instead of sensors per mech, you're suggesting sensor footprint per mech? Not a bad idea.
Something like.detection Range = 400 + ( 5 x Tonnage ) ? Meaning, you detect a Locust at 500 meters, a Centurion at 650, an an Atlas at 900?

I hate the Mist Lynx, its equipment is far too locked down, and its far too slow to be any use whatsoever

As "fast" as a Kitfox/Adder/Stormcrow when the Mist Lynx doesn't have speed tweak (and those mechs having it), and still yet generally slower than a Cicada. This and 6.5 tons to play with. That's just awesome.

No question that it is not top tier, but its fun making it work. The jumping, i love jumping in that thing. Oh yes, did i mention jumping? Maybe the last jump-sniper you can have.

I know the Adder and Warhawk get a bad rep, but the Nova has them beat as the worst clan mech, hands down. I'll put it this way: Before the IS mechs got quirks, the only mech that finished worse in the chassis tournament than the Nova was the Vindicator. At least the Adder doesn't take up a slot that could be filled by a different, better clan light, and the Warhawk is limited in how terrible it can be just by virtue of being an assault in MWO.

I don't own a Mist Lynx (and I don't think I want to) but after seeing them in battle, I think the Nova faces real competition for the title of worst clan mech.

When you're used to the wolves and crows, hawks are bad, yes.
