I love the wolverine, out of all the phoenix mechs, my shadowhawks, and griffin's sit engineless in my hangar while I deploy my wolverines all the time. This mech is fantastic, I can't wait to see what they do with the hero! I'd like to possibly see a torso mounted ballistic (unlikely but I can always hope) with maybe a left arm energy slot as well. This one is going on my wish list for sure!

I'm thinking off something like

LA: 3B
LT: 2E
RT: 1M, 1AMS
RT: 1E

Based off the Conjurer / Wolverine IIC / Wolverine II / 7H

Stock = UAC 5, SRM 6, 2 Medium Pulse, 1 Medium laser, ES, FF and DHS.
WOLVERINE HERO
(using shadowhawk grey death as template for build)

Could drop the energy arm as it does have more hardpoints here then the other variants which is usually a no no.
Check the other mechs, usually the hero has equal or less hardpoints then the normal mech.

Just make it a Wubverine but take 2 of the E points and put them in the Left torso.
Same quirks, MAYBE add jj. Might skirt with being OP.

8 Energy hardpoints will be a violation off the theme hero builds have. Only time a rule for hero mechs has ever been broken if it's A) directly from lore. (ie The atlas), B) it's a locust.

It will have 6 hardpoints or less and I think it'll be at least a missile and ballistic.

Honestly, I want to see the hero based on the wolverine variant that has TWO medium lasers in the head AC 10-RA/2 ML-H/SRM 6-LT/RT would work for me. I've always felt having only one energy slot held the 6R back

found it. and, it was deployed in 3050
  • WVR-7M The 7M variant of the Wolverine has aspects of both the 7D and the 7K versions but is much closer to the original model. Introduced by FWDI in 3050 the 'Mech uses an XL engine, which is augmented with MASC, so as to push the machine up to 108 km/h in bursts. The 7M has twelve double heat sinks and, for a weapons package, it carries two Diverse Optics Sunbeam ER Large Lasers in the right arm and two Magna 400P medium pulse lasers in the head mount while retaining the SRM-6 for close range work.[23] BV (1.0) = 1,309,[2] BV (2.0) = 1,673[24]

Sadly MW: O is not going to let compact cockpit/ XL gyro or split crit slot systems (besides XL engine) for MW: O.

But this cna be mimiced by say... having 1 in the head and 1 in the CT? (or 2 in the CT)

Here's my guess for the hardpoint layout of the Hero. I think it will have an energy slot in the head regardless. Otherwise, It's not a true Wolverine, IMHO.

H: 1E
LT: 3M
RT: 1M, AMS
RA: 1E

Although, they could go with a dakka-boat to make a unique 55 ton Hero, because the Sparky is a laser-boat, the Golden Boy is a missile-boat, and the Gray Death is a generalist. If so, here's my take on it:

H: 1E
LT (or maybe LA): 2B
RA: 2B, 1E

Hmm, a 55t with four ballistic hardpoints, best I could see is fitting a pair of ac/5 or 2's and 2MG's. Maybe 1B, 1E in each arm, 1E head, and 1 or 2 M in one of the torsos. I could see a lot of interesting builds with that layout.

An AC20 capable arm would work, or 4th missle HP in torso.

I would give my left kidney for an AC/20 Wolverine. Something like AC/20 in the RA, ML in the head and another one or two in the CT, and an SRM6 in the LT.

that would make me so happy...

If I could get it for you, I would ;-)

The more I think on it the more I wouldn't mind something that takes the 6R and puts 2M in the arm instead of 2B. That'd be cool too - 5M.

AC 20 wolverine doesn't sound to nice... so many other mediums can do a similar thing (closest is the Centurion... in fact why do you even want an AC 20 wolverine when you got the centurion, blackjack, hunchback, etc...)

I still think something themed on the Wolverine mk IIC will be the best idea.

I'll donate too. I would LOVE a AC/20 Wolverine. It's be like a Centurion with JJ's, but 90% more awesome B)

But if they don't give us one of those, I would like to see something along the lines of this:
H:1E
LA: 2E
LT: 1M
RT: 1M
RA: 2E

Ballistic boats don't really work with mediums. 55 tons isn't enough to boat anything except MG's and we already have the Arrow for that.

Centurion and Hunchback don't have jump jets, Hunchie can't use a XL with an AC/20, and the BlackJack is 10 tons lighter and also slower.

The Wolverine mk IIC will likely be introduced in game at some point, and then the Hero would be redundant.
