2 Man Drops

I have a bit of a gripe concerning the placement of a 2 man group when queuing for a drop. My brother and I routinely play together. However, getting dropped against a 12 man group is never a fun thing.
I don't understand why a group as small as 2 people needs to be regulated like that. I don't mind the competition, but its not exactly apples to apples when an entire team is coordinated against a lance or even half a lance of people who are communicating with each other.
I suppose all I'm saying is, why not allow 2 man groups in the solo queue? Its too small a group to make any kind of difference in there anyhow. And its not nearly big enough to make a difference against 4 man and higher drops in the group queue.
It seems as though 2 man groups really don't have a home in this game, and it sucks because it wasn't always the case. Why not let 2 mans in the solo queue?

a lot
so PGI removed them from the solo queue. Originally 2-4 mans were allowed in the solo queue and those dropping solo didn't like it, they were removed. That's essentially the "why" of the matter.
It's not because

They didn't "knee jerk" anything. The complaints were non-stop and flooding the forums and twitter. Whether you agree with it or not this wasn't a "small minority" complaint. Tons of those in the solo queues were complaining everywhere they could.
Seriously, stuff like this makes it seem like PGI just did whatever without any regards to the community. It was the community that asked for it. At least get the facts straight

Groups don't belong in the solo queue and if you are unhappy with the size of your group I'd suggest joining a larger one.

If you're really concerned about it, stop complaining, give some ideas on how to fix it, and gain support for your ideas

Good (at least better, imo) solutions have been offered multiple times and ignored. PGI ain't changing this as they've said very recently.

Yes silly you. You're blaming pgi for doing what the majority of players asked them to do

No they did knee-jerk reaction and really broke game for 2 man groups..
first of all..negative reactions toward small groups weren't because some 2 man groups ruined games..it was because several 2-4 man groups were sync-dropping and it was quite easy to have like 3-4 4man groups in rotation and at least two always ended in same game..many times another group of same sync group was in other side and they just played with their team-mates anyway.
2-man group was never a problem and players never ever blamed 2 man groups for anything..if something people really want back in the game, it is 2 man group be possible put into solo queue again...so stop saying that majority of the people wanted 2-man groups out of the solo queue...IT IS NOT TRUE!

I wasn't as clear as I should be sorry- I've posted a few times about this is all.
I agree that 4-mans were deadly and unfair on PUGs, and approve their removal. 3-mans ... so-so. 2-mans, I feel should be kept in the solo queue as a large % of 2-mans are not the ultra-elite, co-ordinated, complementary-build groups that some people talk about. Most 2 mans are 2 friends casually playing an online game together, maybe with VOIP probably with chat.

As it currently is i dont even bother trying to get my friends to play mwo with me since it would pretty much come down to telling them to avoid grouping while they learn the game/grind mechs and much later MAYBE have fun together in a group queue. Thats like telling a little kid he has to eat veggies for 6months only to have a chance to later fight a bigger and meaner kid for a piece of candy.
It would be so easy and effective to limit group queue groups to lances (4/8/12) and allow 1-3 mans to join solo queue with matchmaker putting the same size group on both sides (maybe after a while in queue relax it to allow 3man on one side and 2x2 on the other).
Would be better for MWO (far more new players) and better for casuals while not really punishing hardcore players that much since if you are hardcore you shouldnt have much trouble getting a lance or several lance sized group together...how many organized hardcore groups actually run 9-10 groups? I would bet that not many at all (if any).

Oh and the group players will be complaining as 10 mans will be useless, just like 11 mans....

Please provide sources for your numbers. Otherwise I will counter with the "fact" that there are only 42 people playing in the solo queue, while literally 42 billion people are in the group queue at any given moment....

And the rate at which I personally get put in a match against a 12 man as a 2 man happens at perhaps a 1 in 3-4 match rate. That's pretty bad. Sometimes it even worse depending on the time of day. So yes, it's frequent enough........
If 8 mans and up were restricted to ONLY playing a group of comparable size, say + or - 1, I would have no issues. The playing field would be equal. I don't see this happening because the wait times would be redic, however. 3 player groups in solo is too much though, I agree.
I don't see why they should spoil the fun for groups of two by limiting them only to the group pool just to appease the bigger groups. At the end of the day, a group of two is NOT going to dominate a match in the solo pool. They WILL get dominated in the group pool, though.
As was said, axe instead of a scalpel. Break out the small knife PGI! Groups of two in the solo would in fact be a happy medium in which there are no losers.

I get what you are saying about friends. It sucks to be in a small group etc. But as to actual 12 mans, are you sure? As in all one unit tag? If so, that's rough, but I've dropped with 8 mans and gone 0-12. Roflstomps happen.
As to "a happy medium in which there are no losers." have you met Mudhutwarrior? He is the champion of "comms are OP!!" He whines to this day about sync dropping and claims to have "video evidence" of it.
One of my favs was we dropped as a 4 man with 3 BoomJagers and a Hunchie (ie 7 AC/20s in the group). He walked in front of us and disintegrated. Ah got to love seeing your enemies driven before you and to hear the lamentations of their women....course in Mud's case it's one and the same.
But I digress. People would scream absolutely bloody murder if they even thought about mixing groups in with solos. Hell, they opposed letting people flag themselves as willing to drop in group queues.
Wait till the great unwashed masses find out CW is one queue. The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be epic....

Are you genuinely trying to dispute that there are more people playing in solo than group queue? Have you played both?
The wait time is longer by several times in group queue, unless you play American prime time.
