How are we supposed to make decisions if there's no info?

You're apparently supposed to use sarna.

Edit: I recommend just skipping straight ahead to smurfy.

Not sure what you mean by this. The buy pages have hardpoints and engine caps listed, as well as variants.

Yeah, in game info is lacking.

sometimes it would be cool for new players to get some info what for example an LB10X or LRM/SRM is and how they work. ingame, like in every other game. If that is what the OP means, actually not sure about it...

Oh, Ferro, Endo and Artemis.

That makes sense I guess. There really isn't much in game.

They don't even tell you to avoid Ferro.

If anyone was manning the like 2 Wikis this game has and updated them properly I'm sure we wouldn't need all that information.

Wouldn't it be great if every mech and every weapon/component/module was free to use in the Training Grounds Only?
That way new players (or any player low on CBills) could get a feel of what mech and build suits them best before making the plunge.

The point is a player shouldn't have to nor be expected to dig through outside sources to find basic information on weapons and such

I've suggested this many times as well. Yes it would be

This was kind of a "promise" for UI 2.0 (like a useful smurfy builder) and it's essentially went by the wayside... because... more mechs.

Edit:
It was the same for being able to sell ammo and armor. Those options are not there.

Th existence of fan created wiki's, updated or not, is not a valid excuse for the in game info to be lacking. It's a sign of poor development. Just look at the train wreck that is Destiny.
