This has probably been asked and answered, but I couldn't find the info.

Will we be able to sell our mechs/equipment/weapons to other players?
If I were to buy the Legendary Founders package and didn't want my Jenner, could I sell that to someone else?

Sorry if this has already been addressed.
If anyone has a link to that discussion, I'd appreciate it.

I am fairly certain that there is no way to exchange money or mechs or cbills or xp or weapons or anything in this game. If you buy a founders pack with all the mechs you would have all of those mechs forever. There is really no advantage to selling a founders mech anyway its much better just to have them. Trust me. Hope this helps.

Thanks.
I was just thinking that it would be pointless to have mechs that I probably won't use.

There hasn't been anything a out selling to other players directly, but I'm guessing it won't be included. They have stated that earning loyalty points with a faction can get you discounts, so in theory someone could buy stuff at a discount and sell it to other players for a small profit, but still less than what that player would pay directly. Thus, eliminating the need for a lot of players to gain faction favor and defeating some of the advantage that other players earned

I'm guessing the market will be like WoT (OMG!!!!) where all exchanges are between the player and PGI.

You don't think you will use it now...but wait until the game is out to the masses. You might just find a use for it after all. B)

They've already stated that the founder's mechs give you more slots (and that you can't sell them). So I'd figure it's safe to assume you'll be able to buy more space int eh garage since it's already flexible between 4 and 8.

It makes sense to me that we will be able to expand our garage slots via c-bills or real money. The developers to my knowledge haven't commented on this.

Without a Founders(Or at Veterans) a player will start with 4 slots with the ability to buy up to 8 total with C Bills.
An Elite or Legendary Founders player however starts with Founder version Mechs, and these do not eat up a normal slot. So basically as Elite, you will start with 5, being able to obtain up to 9 total.(4+4+1) As Legendary you will simply start with 8 and be able to buy up to 12 total.(4+4+4)

I would guess you can buy more garage space with real money.

Just to rain on the 'dont compare it to wot crowd':

You will probably be able to buy more garage slots, 'JUST like in World of Tanks!'

^ This is true. If rich players are able to sell in game currency themselves, then what is to force players to buy it from the store, as opposed to buying it more cheaply from other players? As unwanted C-Bills pile up players will naturally undercut the official store to sell it and then take siphon money away that rightfully belongs to the game company. If you are able to sell your C-Bills via trading it, then people will buy it from you for a better deal, and YOU get that money, NOT Piranha. They need that funding to run the game. These things don't pay for themselves kids.

Never though of it like this, but I see your point and agree.
Maybe they could make it so that you could sell your mech back to their store and they in turn could resell or auction that mech. I realize that it's all just 1's and 0's, but if the founders mechs were limited they could become rare commodities and sell for more than their normal couterparts.
I mean how cool would it be to have multiple founders' Atlas' (or whichever you prefer) in your garage?

In a free to play game. You can bet you can buy more spaces. We would go pale and **** ourselves if we logged in to find they had not put a price on such a resource.

As for trading. So glad there is none. Forget it and forget all the issues that come with it.

Even if you can only have 4 mechs for now outside of the founder mechs i'm sure there will be an option to sell a mech back to the in game vender for a lower price. Doesn't sound reasonable to be stuck with 4 mechs and not be able to trade in for something new.

Not necessarily IF the game dev's put certain controls for the economy into place. For example...

-Founder Mechs cannot be sold.

-Only mechs that can be bought with CB can be sold player to player ... OR ... MC-only mechs (hero mechs) can be sold player to player but the buyer must use MC and the seller only receives CB in return. Plus, MC purchases must always be the same. So, if I bought this hero mech for [X] amount of MC, and I want to sell it to you, then you have to pay that same [X] amount of MC.

-Mechs can only be sold at predetermined minimum prices, so I couldn't sell you my Atlas for 1 CB just because you're my buddy and I'm trying to help you out. The minimum price, for example, could be whatever the mech can be bought for in the mechlab.

-The amount of the CB the seller gets from a sale could be less than the price tag that the seller puts on the mech....call it a seller's fee. It could be more profitable to sell to another player versus the standard "sell mech" function now, but not so lucrative that Used Mech Salesman becomes a preferred career path of the MWO players.

Now with those kinds of restrictions, you might be asking "why even sell player to player?" I think there's still a market for those who want to sell for more than what the game gives them, and for those looking to buy a mech that's already well-equipped and battle-ready versus one from the mechlab shop that needs lots of tweaking and upgrading and they would be willing to pay more for that convenience.

PGI loses and gains nothing from CB, so what players do with it is irrelevant. Their money comes from MC, so as long as things that the original mech buyer purchased with MC are still being bought by the used mech buyer with the same amount of MC, then a sale player to player, or game to player, makes absolutely no difference.

I've also taken MC paint into mind. Let's say you're selling a standard (non-hero) mech that has some MC premium paint job applied to it. The buyer could be given 2 options:
[1] The buyer can use MC (the same amount the previous owner paid for that paint job) toward that part of the purchase
[2] The buyer can just pay for the mech with CB, and the MC paint is automatically removed and replaced by the standard green that all mechs come with now.

Likewise, all MC purchased accessories, cosmetics, or upgrades can work in that same fashion.

Also, all sales are final - no refunds - no exchanges.
