So excited to put CGB colors and camo on all my mechs, including Invasion variants!!! :D

...oh, and the other stuff is cool, I guess...

Seriously, being able to repaint my Invasion mechs with faction camo is probably my #1 biggest joy. I don't have a clan pack at this point, only (many) A'la Carte clan mechs, but I'll probably buy a small Clan pack just to get CGB camo to make my Invasion clan mechs not look so dull.

So far, I'm loving this. You guys are doing an amazing job at setting and achieving targets, and CW is finally happening!

My only persistent bugbear is the insistence on hyping up and pushing the art team toward making big mech bundles (like the Resistance pack), when there are existing mechs that are, compared to the newer ones, unfinished. I would like to see the older mechs get their art pass before new mechs are released. Outside of nostalgia value, there are very few mechs that need to be added to this game.

Having said all that, I reiterate, good job, and I get that you guys need to turn a buck. Monetisation idea: Instead of new mechs, perhaps custom mech geometry options that players can mix and match.

Agree with some more of the posts here - while it is amazing we are finally at the stage we have CW coming out, it might benefit the community and decrease the chance of excesssive QQ posting about bugs if we have an overall guide/post on what to expect.

Might even allow some studious mechwarriors to identify potential fixes/changes/issues prior to the patch, which can benefit the development of CW.

Just saying. ;)

I for one am just sad that I get my King Crab just one day before I fly off to a tropical Island in the Maldives for two weeks. *please, no 'island' references here, I am seriously on vacation*. :P

Simply put, I wont be getting much sleep on patch night that's for sure.

Questions:
1. the faction content for the Resistance package shows King Crab in the Faction camo's, I was lead to believe that we were getting the camo for the king crab like the one displayed on the gift page link with the teeth and eyes so what one do we get? is the resistance page just for show purposes with the king crab?
2. Will the clan faction camo be purchasable by MC at a latter time>?
3. You wont be able to repaint Prime Variants will you?

Thank you!

Also, is there any progress on unit decals? If so, will Merc/Clan units be allowed to make their own decals or upload an image?

Please show us what you have in store for decals in a future patch, I'm sure that many unit leaders would be happy.

Love the quirks being updated. In light of that, I think many of us will want to poke at those quite a bit.

Any chance we could do a poll and maybe swap the FB and K2 quirks a bit?

Also, it's known that while the quirks were underway there were also two other changes that changed the balance of power (tiers) - ECM / BAP and the reduction of their usefulness as well as the upgrade to pulse lasers and downgrade to PPCs + desync'd ballistics. That means that mechs like the SHD and CTF-3D which were great six months ago aren't as good - but not because they changed, but because PPC / ballistics / pulse did. Is this the kind of thing you'll be addressing?

Some quirks really needed revising and I am glad you were so fast on to it. So, bring it on!

Not only he is 1 HS short, he also added 45 slugs for gauss when even 30 rounds on a medium is excessive (25 will be ideal), he also dropped C.A.S.E from RT (WTF?) and stripped armor from legs to right arm.
I guess he is typical assault LRM american player.

1) Thank you for jumping so readily on the stereotyping bandwagon
2) Thank you for assuming that everyone has such bad experiences with "ammo explosions" as you seem to
3) Thank you for showing your amazing intellectual prowess by jumping so readily on the stereotyping bandwagon
3) Thank you for assuming that - like yourself - others must never live long enough to actually use that much ammunition!
4) Thank you for proving your own amazing open-mindedness by jumping on the stereotyping bandwagon.

There has been alot of hints at what this big update will be but I am looking forward to seeing whats actually in it. Going to be some awsome battles by the looks of it so far.

On the beta, this is a huge feature release, multiple features really, so no worries for having a live beta.

King Crab and Wave 2 Content -- "Special Note: ... faction skins ... "Invasion" version of your Wave 2 mechs ... Further into the future the faction skins will be retrofitted to work with all Wave 1 mechs."
  • Very, very nice surprise!
  • As an added bonus, any chance we could get our IS Resistance faction skins to work on our "Phoenix" versions (I'm guessing "Founder" versions also would be asking too much)?
Hit Box corrections -- "Mist Lynx with as much reduction on the arm hit boxes as was possible."
  • I've only played a few games in it, but I'm thinking this is not going to be an increase in survivability.
IS Quirks pass update -- "... in more cases considering the stock load out."
  • Good call. The quirks have given me a reason to grind 'mechs again, and most of them don't blow chunks anymore.
Community Warfare Phase 2 -- "... possibility of downtime on CW as we patch issues that are exposed by the large live population base."
  • I'm not holding my breath for a perfect product (well, maybe a little). I really want CW to be great, to be the reason why thousands of old players come back to the game and bring new players with them.

Feels like a step backwards with the IS quirks. All those multi-ballistic hardpoint 'mechs going to waste by forcing them towards single-cannon loadouts.

It was bad enough that pretty much all the Atlas are quirked towards AC20 but now the 3 ballistic point 5N is being prodded into using a single UAC5? UAC5 quirks don't even seem to make a noticeable difference compared to the AC5 quirks. The 5N will compare even less favourably with the 1N. It's also removing one of the very few AC2 quirked mechs.

It's a shame that things seem to be moving towards even less variety.

oh... and you STILL need to make flamers a viable weapon!

AND it's unbelievable that the Cataphract - one of the most popular 'mechs in the game - STTILLLLL hasn't had an art-pass for it's weapon visuals!

Hit box corrections sounds good but please don't gimp the Grid Iron even more with a Gauss quirk, the UAC5 one is bad as it is.
