So it looks like it is time to re install MWO since it will take a few days due to crappy internet.

Made a promise to myself not to play MWO until Community Warfare was in. :)

Welcome Back! Not all of the changes have been...appreciated. However, for the most part I think that PGI is doing a stand up job, and I for one couldn't be more proud to be a part of this community. =]

So far, I'm loving this. You guys are doing an amazing job at setting and achieving targets, and CW is finally happening!

My only persistent bugbear is the insistence on hyping up and pushing the art team toward making big mech bundles (like the Resistance pack), when there are existing mechs that are, compared to the newer ones, unfinished. I would like to see the older mechs get their art pass before new mechs are released. Outside of nostalgia value, there are very few mechs that need to be added to this game.

Having said all that, I reiterate, good job, and I get that you guys need to turn a buck. Monetisation idea: Instead of new mechs, perhaps custom mech geometry options that players can mix and match.

I'll have some of whatever he is smoking ^^^ "very few mechs that need to be added to this game" Sorry bub, I have to agree to disagree with you. Their are TONS (pun intended) of new mechs that need added to the game. Your community sure would love the hatchet man, Axe man, and Berserker!

Not only he is 1 HS short, he also added 45 slugs for gauss when even 30 rounds on a medium is excessive (25 will be ideal), he also dropped C.A.S.E from RT (WTF?) and stripped armor from legs to right arm.
I guess he is typical assault LRM american player.

FYI Shar Wolf happens to be a GREAT player. I've watched more than a few of Shar's games, and Shar is usually one of the last one standing. At least the ones I have seen.

Furthermore Shar has always been helpful to new players, and is not bigoted, or asinine in any way, shape or form. I have great respect for this player. Just because you can't make it work, doesn't mean that its not a good build.

Edit: Shar has been removed from "elite" status and is now simply a "great" player Innuendo of retribution in game has been redacted ~Grins.

And I can tell you - I am far from the best player out there.

IE: hardly "Elite" :P

IE: if I can make it work - so can a lot of other people

You guys are doing a great, consistent job on delivering promise content and changes. Wish it has been like this a year ago :-P

Thank you for assuming that everyone has such bad experiences with "ammo explosions" as you seem to

Gauss Rifle explosion is 90% chance for 20 damage straight to internals, hence why it is questionable to run Gauss without CASE.
Although for this build if you lost your Gauss you are already out of the fight, so it makes perfect sense.

Neither are insults.

Mine was not intended as a threat - but as a warning.

Past experience with such posters has been that they will try to continue their argument
Regardless of facts or anything else.

After having had several spend more than a MONTH try to continue trying to prove me wrong -despite any and all evidence I have produced - to the point of sending me PMs or quoting me throughout the forum - I give then one warning - as dictated by the mods.

And then I simply report them.

So again - that was not a thread - that was a warning.

Shouldn't diversity be encouraged by balancing among weapons? Meta builds will cease to exist, only when there is not a single combo massively standing out over the other builds.

I think we both want the same thing, but through different ways.

Absolutely not. The warrior makes the weapon, the weapon does not make the warrior. Dual Gauss Rifles can murder mechs, but only if the pilot is a steady aim. They are practically useless if the pilot can't hit scrap.

Nerfing is a poor way to encourage players into mediocrity. Players who have trouble should admit their faults, and practice harder to become better pilots. Nerfing a weapon or piece of equipment simply inhibits good players, and makes poor players seem better. We should NEVER reward a lack of skill.

The incessant Nerfing that PGI has done over the last two years has not improved this game one iota. It has effectively ruined a fairly good amount of possibilities for game outcome.

Apologies if I have taken this out of context. But you cannot "Balance" a players skill. In a competitive environment on any battle front, their simply is, no such thing. (unless you want to use British independence war era tactics)

Absolutely love that we get to use the faction camo on our Invasion Primes!

Yes, this is great news. Some of my Primes seem so plain compared to the slick camo jobs I have on my other variants yet I run the Primes the most for the 30% bonus.

Hmmmm.... that did sound a bit elitist. However, I didn't mean to make it seem that way. I should have worded that differently., so I will edit it.

You might not be "elite" but you are a GREAT pilot. ;)

Comes with lots of practice.
Sure was not when I started - and I had quite a bit of prior Mechwarrior experience for practice!

I'm bummed out that the Grid Iron is losing the UAC 5 quirk. I prefer that weapon system over the guass for any medium inner sphere mech. Guass rifles weigh more and are more fragile than the UAC 5. The added guass rifle weight for this chasis will make it more likely that a pilot will have to use an xl engine if they want to use all the hard points the mech comes with.

Community Warfare Phase 2 - Open Beta - The explanations are plentiful in the many posts you have read, you all know what it is. As the title states this will be an Open Beta release and will certainly have known issues when it is released.

Special Note on CW Phase 2 Open Beta: At some future date we will remove the Open Beta tag and even rename and re brand the entire thing to something more fitting. It should also be noted that with Open Beta releasing so close to the Christmas break that it is likely there will be some hot fixes that week and even the possibility of downtime on CW as we patch issues that are exposed by the large live population base.

/end Snip
This implies there was a closed beta. Where was my invite I'm an Original CBT'r, seems like a lot of neglect to only have they who Pay testing (yeah Im making an ass outta both of us, but from my investigations If it has webbed feet and quacks like a duck its not a chicken). And wouldnt it seem awfully strange that its 'Pro' ( I want to know who is Paying these professional mechwarriors, I mean at least WoT has a $30k Tourney) Units that have the most insight as to whats going to be going on on the CW map while the majority of us will get roflstompled due to them knowing where to set up ambushes etc.

but Can we Please get Clan-Quirks,
some time before the end of the year?
maybe more Variants as well?
maybe In-Game-Voip too?

I guess he is typical assault LRM american player.

Lots of AC20 rounds are IMHO questionable, but for Gauss? You've got a reasonably agile, speedy medium able to keep distance for a lot of the match in most maps with ease. You could sit back early and hammer away with the gauss, then close. I would rarely if ever take so much, but you could easily use it.

CASE? Sure, the gauss is highly explosive, but it's only 20 damage. That may be enough to destroy the side torso, but in all honesty it doesn't much matter at that point. The gauss is what you care about, if it's lost, the extra 20 points to the side torso is irrelevant. CASE is rarely actually worth taking.

"I guess he is typical assault LRM american player." Aaaaaand then, we see. Now, I'm a Canadian lad, so I don't have a personal stake here, but this is one of the most ignorant, moronic sentences I've seen on these forums in recent memory. That's really saying something! As such, welcome to my ignore list. Fortunately, thanks to other comments, I know I'm not going to be missing anything valuable.

PGI a year ago and PGI now are two different entities in terms of content delivery. The change is a very pleasant one, it's not perfect, but we see major changes towards making sure the community is involved, growing and entertained while at the same time taking into account a lot of our complaints. Keep it up.

P.S. Does King Crab come solo or with 2 others that I can spend my hard earned IC on?

Solo, exactly as the Centurion and Atlas you likely already received came. It'll almost certainly have Norn camo as per the other two as well. Note that this means the gifted King Crab almost certainly won't be able to use the faction camo.

There is hope for the camo though - as (I) mechs are getting the option - other camo limited chassis may as well (if "soon")
