Vs. Chickenwalker assaults

vs. 100 tonners

Looks pretty good to me at least from this angle. If anything it may or may not be smaller than the other 100tonners. But its hard to say with just this angle.

Here is some ingame comparisons provided by NGNG:

Does not looks visually like a 100 ton.

But the whole artwork looks fantastic.

this mech is going to be so broken.

Perfect stoop tank posture. A bit smaller than an expected 100 tonner.
PLUS it got quirks. Never expected it to have quirks.

Eh... Given that this mech will have some of the lowest slung weapons in the game - ballistic arm hardpoints - I'd say that will probably balance it's low profile. It'll be harder to hit than one might expect, but it will be shooting a lot of dirt. Anyone who's play a Cataphract knows what I'm talking about...

The arm cannons are still a liiittle higher than a Cataphracts, though. At least the top cannon.

for the ballistics probably. But the energy hardpoints are very high mounted. There plus there a variant with 6 energy HP on the torsos

True, but "a little higher" still means exposing more of your big, slow mech to be able to return fire. Not saying the King Crab is along in this department (Hi, Atlas!), but when you have to stand out in the open to lay down the pain, even decent hitboxes won't save you.

The Stalker - infamous for durable - combines good hitboxes and high-mounted energy hardpoints. Together, they make it so tough, while either feature along would be less noteworthy.

Bottom line: I expect this will be a good mech, but hardly broken or game-warping.

GOOD.

It's about time a wide Assault wasn't instantly binned because it was easier to hit than the broadside of 10'000'000 barns.

True, though that still means you'll be exposed to use those arm guns.

Now, a poster above mentioned high-mounted energy hardpoints, which would be interesting.

This mech may end up a real test of the pilot's skill. Smart ones will take advantage of the high-mounted weapons and not squander their mech with nothing but huge arm guns while standing out in the open. Less experienced pilots will be losing King Crabs left and right with nothing but AC20's while being the target of every mech on the enemy team.

Could be a very interesting mech and a good skill tester.

I will with hold judgements on this mech till I can learn the hit-boxes, if the are Adder like, I know I can make it work and spread damage all over from front to back, and left to right with ease. If it is Mad Dog like, then it could be more tricky.

your thinking its going to be a tradeoff for being wide.

But broken implies it will be too good despite the tradeoffs.

The KGC still suffers from "Atlas Syndrome", wherein it is required to expose its entire torso to clear its claws for firing. Lets not stick it with "Awesome Syndrome" as well, because while Atlas Syndrome is a pain, Awesome Syndrome is fatal.

Arms are way too big when not closed IMO.

I wonder how the torso's are split on top.... I imagine it'll be very vulnerable to LRMs, what with that flat top. Beautiful mech though, just don't leave home without AMS and your buddies with AMS as well.

They really need to rescale the Catapult. It's way too big and since they tacked on VCR's for extra missiles any argument for extra volume in the ears kind of falls flat.

Scale looks really good. Don't forget the shell extends back a ways. The front profile is misleading.

from the front. But it's an LRM catcher from above, and from the flanks and rear, it's sticks out worse than Shakira, Beyonce, J-Lo and Iggy Azalea combined.

It's gonna have it's weaknesses, like the DW. But those will be hard to notice if you try to go toe to toe with it, likely.

Though from Sean's video (of course he was staring like a nub, lol) it did take a lot of CT damage.
