apply your siggy's motto to it.

My siggy is reserved for 'fun' things. At this point I have no idea if it's fun or not. But it looks less like "fun and more like a bag full of frustration.

I can tell, because it's got lower arm mounted hardpoints than the equally tall Atlas. And I know those arm mounted weapons are a bag full of frustration on the atlas.

After looking closely at all the pictures.

This is what I see:

ZOMG I WOULD TOTALLY DRIVE THAT!

Running around hunting me some belly-hugging, leg-humpin' lights.

I'm sure you'd see a lot more of them if it did.

I bet you most BNC-3E and Ms would kill to have the Gargoyles arms, every time a TDK starts anklehumping it!

Just based on looks, very glad I'm an IS pilot, because that has to be one of the worst looking mechs I've ever seen.

And not in an ugly-pretty way, like some mechs, either...just looks like a bad '80s plastic toy. Hoping this isn't a popular mech just so I don't have to see them much..

(sorry for the negativity....I just really find it to be godawful looking, my own preference is all.)

It really looks like it was modeled after a character from the webcomic achewood

Specifically check out the characters with glasses like The one in this one.

The quirks are a sad joke compared to what the King Crab is getting, I hope those are placeholders.

Torso yaw speed is totally amazing. I'm not sure if that will save this mech from the mediocre bin, but it's something.

thx for the preview Sean, its a big, fast mech that looks like it can tank damage, other than the (I)nvasion death head looking more like the classic art (nice touch). http://www.sarna.net.../d7/Manowar.jpg, it seems like it will be a good ride!, cant wait till patch time, peace out!

Agreed. I'm sure when the Clans get their own personal quirks, it'll get a revisit.

That said, as Russ put it, it only need compete with the Victor, Zeus and Awesome. If on par with other 80 tonners, well mission accomplished. We will see if indeed, it is on par. Lack of JJs and mondo Shoulder pads or PP-FLD ballistic make me doubt it will be on par with the VTR:

We'll have an idea for quirks tomorrow.

I am slightly concerned for the Lynx...since it has both JJs and ECM, even if you choose not to take it. Hopefully individual pods get the quirks.

The choices are all tier 3-5, so either way, we'll see how they go. As long as it's more than 5.2 armour....10%...

Well, realistically, only things that could "help" the issues with the MLX is massively reinforced arms, or adding torso hardpoints. (Lets face it removing BAP ain't gonna fix the real issues, and neither will stripping JJs)

I have had conversations with Russ, where I won't say he has agreed to adding hardpoints to certain chronic underperformers *cough summoner*, but also didn't take the possibility off the table.

Much as I hate to tweak lore, something as simple as adding a second missile hardpoint the the LT of a Summoner could open up huge build differences.

yea because the clans are all OP god tier, any more quirks and it would be able to murder entire lances of mechs with just a small laser.

The face of every Gargoyle pilot, hill humping with no weapons reaching over the edge.

It's looking like this is going to be primarily a mobile bullet-stopper to divert attention from other clan mechs. Which is... okay, I guess. I can see it being useful in PUG on those occasions where you can find a couple Timbers or or Hellbringers to roll around with you, letting you interpose yourself to tank damage and throw out juuuust enough damage you can't be ignored, giving them breathing room to actually do the killing bit. You can see it in the video: on its own, it just doesn't have the firepower to deal with other big mechs, but it tanks damage decently, and moves fast enough to extend an engagement against opponents that outmatch it.

I don't know. It feels like a lot of these newer Clan mechs are being designed around roles that don't really fit real-world play as it exists now. Lights designed to serve as escort fire-support, and an assault intended as the party tank: it's like they're built for the MWO that might exist 6-12 months from now, when stuff has settled in and role-warfare might become a thing that exists in something more than rough outline form.

Obviously our unskilled eyes cannot make such outlandish deductions before the mech is even released.

FO SHAME, to call out something so obvious based upon years of play.

NEY. I say.

One must wait for the timer to strike zero before such opinions are accepted around here or be ye stoned by the opposed by those who oppose for no other reason than to oppose.

Mystery is afoot at the circle K.

Pucker up, here comes the Fingerman.

technically each mech is only 30 dollars (that is including the free stuff you get for each level which drives the price down even more)
