Unfortunately being stuck with a 400 rated engine (despite being XL) means very little room for much else. Having Ferro Fibrous instead of Endo Steel doesn't help much either.

Seems at some point MWO is going to have to do something about this, maybe make Ferro Fibrous armor give some kind of extra damage absorption or something. Nova and Summoner have similar issues regarding free tonnage and as a result take a back seat to the Stormcrow and Timberwolf by quite a bit.

Im concerned that in all the videos it appears to be taking a lot of CT shots. Hope the hitbox is okay.

Maybe its giant round head counts as a CT shot, so thats what was getting hit the most.

Given that all of its weapons are in the arms, it doesn't seem like intentionally blocking the CT with the arms is as viable as it could be.

We don't know his armor configuration... he could be running next to nothing in the back, or relatively low in the front.

If that's the case then I'd think Mr. Lang isn't representing it properly. I chose not to assume this though and would like some clarification on it. Even if it's to say that no, I wasn't seeing what I thought I was seeing. :)

King Crab got babied by fighting against terrible builds to make it look great.
They tried a bit to hard for the gargoyle and made it look bad. Plus they were running stock, which is horrible. Not enough wub in the stock

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHhahahahahahaaaa

Okay, this is most certainly NOT the modeler's fault. I mean, this was the original image of the Gargoyle:

I mean, that is one of the dopiest looking mechs I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot.

So what you're saying is spurdo the mech can't even brawl a warhawk, despite said warhawk firing streaks beyond max range?

Well, with a less bad build, it can out-laserspam the PeaceDove...in short bursts. None of the demonstrated builds were particularly good either. It can do identical loadouts to the Loki, which is just a tad worse than the TimberGod, but it also lacks any high mounted hardpoints or a Jesus Box.

Mediocre, but potentially capable.

I'm sorry, but 24 tons of guns don't fit on 20 tons of pod space.

I'm not that familiar with the pod space on all clan mechs. I was going off hard points.

Once smurfy gets the thing up we can figure out some possible builds.

You can do it now. SSW is accurate. Heck, you can just pen and paper it. Clam mechs will always have the same engine, and this particular mech will never have crit slot issues.

Take 20 tons of guns and heatsinks, done.

Smurphy's adds a bit of elegance to it though. :D Plus links and sharing and momma always said sharing was good.

Might as well just take a heavy mech. Same speed, same armor, same pod space if not lower on some... yet bigger model/hitboxes and soaks an assault slot. : / Expected it so oh well.

Pretty much the same firepower as a Helbringer but with significantly more armor and potentially better hit boxes/better defensive twisting capability (No chest protrusion). It actually might be more agile as well. Honestly doesn't look that bad too me.

Just run it with 6xMPL and get it over with.

The hellbringer with 6xMPL gets me consistent 6-1000 damage, 2-6 kill games. It is nearly Timbergod OP in capable, cautious hands.

I expect this big lug to run similarly. Hopefully the extra armor and fast twist speed (better?) offsets the lack of ECM.

It is, though.

Here's the original atlas. Look at it. Look at the legs.

There's no excuse. They made the garg awful, despite their history of turning horrible, ancient robot designs into solid gold.

Sean, buddy. 89kph assault 'Mech. Engage, then disengage, and there's no reason whatsoever for you to find yourself inside SRM range of an AS7-S :P

Is anyone else disappointed at the somewhat lackluster torso mobility of the War-Gargle? Given how...focused...its armaments are, I was hoping for something like Hunchback/Stormcrow twist arcs, make it really feel like an up-armored medium. After all the time I've spent in Crows I can certainly say that the Lolbringer's twist arcs make me feel like I'm in a Whale with busted servos, but at least that made sense on the hardpoint-infested ECM-capable nonsense beast. On the War-Gargle? Dunno if I approve of basic 90-degree arcs and no real speed bonuses on something whose sole niche in life is being the faster-than-you assault 'Mech.

Honestly rather have an extra fifteen degrees of torso movement. It already moves as fast as it really needs to at eighty tons, but it does not have the agility it needs to take merciless advantage of its straightline speed. This is a 'Mech that would benefit more than most from the ability to shoot stuff damn near directly behind them whilst bolting away at 89kph.

Probably why they didn't give it that chance. Blrrgh.
