I felt the turn and accel where all great. From a guy that almost mainlines awesomes. It felt on par with my 400xl baby, and not even quirked.

The Decel and torso arc / arm reflex is what was killing my ability to fight effectively.

Even with arm and hand actuators it is poor? Is it maybe a bug like the Vulture had when it was released?

It's an 80 ton assault, what did you expect?

This isn't an atlas, it isn't even a banshee really, it is just a more humanoid looking Awesome with clan weapons.

Most folks don't like the mechs that are right above the tier cutoff... vindi, cicada, dragon, quickdraw, awesome....

When new ones come out folks figure "oh it'll be like the rest of the top weigh mechs in this tier"... nope!

Play an Awesome like a freakishly huge heavy, play a quickdraw like a fat medium and play a cicada like a slightly more armored light.

This suffers from the same thing.

Also, when a 100 KGC has better agility than an 80 kph 80 tonner?

That I agree with, KGC puts every assault mech out there to shame.

To be fair to you, at least you still play a lot(?) and are trying to contribute. Just so I don't look like a TOTAL douche.

I keep up to date with patches and derp it up in-game when I get the time (most recent time being during the 2.5x XP weekend). Since the semester is almost over I should be dropping a bit more often.

Also, I'd say that you're more of a T urd Sandwich than a douche. :P

EDIT: Why do they censor t u r d? Yet they let us get away with other, much worse things...

^^ I know the censor system is very strange here, must be a Canadian thing.

You know, some of us that complain about the game... actually play the game a lot.

I have said zero bad things about the Hellbringer (in fact, it is the current height of "mechboners").

I've even defended the Ice Ferret, despite its overall mediocrity. I know enough to do something with it.

It is not unreasonable to show displeasure at things that are designed poorly or incorrectly, while giving constructive criticism of the faults and the possible solutions to fix it.

Just saying.

I guess there's just some of you who are only talking when things are bad, and never when things are good. I suppose there's nothing wrong with that.

But sometimes the standards that some of you have seem way out of whack. Again...not all mechs are equal. So what. They're equal enough. That sort of thing.

I said it was mech Christmas coming early in the patch notes thread. I'm not sure how you missed the occasional nice stuff I say. I said something similar about the Loki/Hellbringer coming early too.

In this game, bad mechs get pointed out and are immediately set on the mech cross. BURN THE BAD MECH HITBOX HERETICS!

Haven't had a CT death yet.

But have not been impressed.

Biggest complaint: For a "mobility" mech, it's agility and mobility profile feels like it's HUGE, and so any 45º pebble robs you of that mobility.

This is the killer on this guy (IMO). My first drop with my prime I drew Canyon Network... I tried climbing a couple of ramps I use all the time and felt like a 500lb dude trying to vault over a 7 ft wall. I just said screw it and stayed on the ground floor till I hit the mid-map ramp. Agility is great - but if you're stuck with the hill-climbing ability of an Atlas, it takes an awful lot of that away.

To add insult to injury... the King Crab has a favorable movement archetype...

"Agility" indeed.

I haven't gotten the chance to play since the patch hit. (Woke up early this evening, patched, and started tinkering around kitting out my reward KGC, lost track of time, and was almost late for work, heh.)

So, for me the Gargoyle is all conjecture and hearsay so far. But I'm not surprised by what I hear. I expect I'll have an easier time with it than most, because I run half of my BLRs with 400XLs. I'm used to using a fairly fast mech that handles like a truck. And still, despite this and the usage of clan weapons, I expect the Gargoyle to be less effective than my BLRs. The hardpoints are just so low. And this isn't really PGIs fault. When the mechanical design for these mechs came out the designers wanted stuff that looked cool, and the idea that it should have weapons poking out of ideal locations was, as far as I know, not even present. And PGI has done a very good job of being true to those original mechanical designs.

So, anyway, yeah, neither surprised nor disappointed. I was expecting everything in Wave II to at best be mediocre. The Hellbringer exceeded that expectation, the Myst Lynx underperformed, the Ice Ferret and Gargoyle appear to be more or less on target for my expectations, and the Mad Dog was really nice.

Same boat here patched will play later as for the Wave 2 mechs so far!,.. Hellbringer after fix is better, Mad dog is OK what I expected but the mist lynx, ice ferret sub par mechs. Clan Tech readout show these builds to be crap. Without the ability to adjust Endo, Ferro or engine size some of these builds are just crap IMHO. No body ran stock builds in the other games because they had shartY loadouts. Most disappointing underperformers at 1st release. Disappointing to hear Gargoyle will be a little try hard as well. Not my final judgment I have not played it yet.

here you go, a build with a shield. But if you really wanna be dumb and pilot something anyone who took basic mech physics would call an immense waste of metal you could be piloting this horrible abomination

The most pressing issue right now is the Primary paint and Secondary paint don't work leaving you with a state puff marshmallow look going into combat.

Its the same issue the Dire Wolf had with its paint.

This needs to be fixed.
