Well hope they do change it to open up more customizing. Hell I know I spend most of my time changing colors and patterns and get every mech i got just perfect. Lame having a pattern locked so you are forced to look like everyone else. not a real big sell point this day and age

They didn't announce that the patterns' camos would be color-locked because they KNEW there would be backlash.

This is the same exact manipulation that my 12-year old brother uses in arguments to get his way and alter the truth. They PURPOSELY avoided releasing the fact that these patterns wouldn't be customizable.

I'm very disappointed in PGI and hope that they patch in color customization to these patterns. Someone should make a petition post (poll) on the forums for this so that we can show PGI how upset the player base is by their decision.

While I'm personally not super mad about the camos being un-customizable, I do feel deceived and that is what's upsetting most players. If we had been told about this beforehand in the FAQ, many players would've been upset and we probably would've demanded a change to the color-lock anyways, but the backlash still would have been less violent and it would have been smaller.

They already released a News Letter saying that "due to popular demand we will be working to make clan camo customizable in the new year". Boom done

So, if I used my Clan Wolf Pattern on my MDD-B, does that mean it is consumed and I can no longer place it on the other Variants?

Well, I do like PGI, and hate to complain, but:

On the clan wave 2 page it says camos will be unlocked for preordered mechs, and it was only made clear that this doesnt include the wave 1 mechs after everything was released.

So I expected the patterns to be released for my wave 1 mechs as well, which after $360 seems reasonable.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

Eh got a newsletter from an account I haven't used in years.

So my question is, will I ever get to use the faction camos on the Mad Dog and Wave 1 Clan Mechs. And if not, why was such a poor decision made?


Same question for the Wrath Pack camos, will I ever get to use the camos on all the other InnerSphere Mechs?


It just seems rather insulting to get camo(s) for 4 Mechs (8 Total Variants) but not the rest. If they're truly meant to distinguish factions and start bringing life to visually distinguishing between Clan and IS, why only release it for such a tiny fraction of the mechs? What if I want to sport Clan Wolf camo on my Direwolf or Steiner camo on my Atlas, etc?

I was naive and thought this as well when I bought it. I mean we're going for uniform color schemes for CW right... Oh wait. All those Stormcrows, Timberwolves and Direwolves won't have the skins at all...

I believe they said they would also work on getting these faction skins out to pre-ordered Wave 1 mechs... not sure where I read that though.

What will happen when one changes his faction in CW / takes on a new contract with some other faction?
What about faction camo then? Was there any information on this matter yet?

You can equip and unequip like any "unlocked" camo pattern in you possession

IF locked colors was my problem I would jump on this, but I have legitimate issues concerning the camos that has been overlooked... I DID NOT RECEIVE CAMO SPECS I PAID FOR, both the smoke jaguar and jade falcon camo specs are missing, I HAVE THE COLORS, WHY NOT THE CAMO??? I wish people wouldnt gloss over real problems cuz whiney me BS... my money is missing, you got all your camos and all your other stuiff, stop complaining, the email newsletter said you get what you want... would be nice if they were able to see my message about NOT EVEN GETTING THE STUFF I PAID FOR

Send in a support ticket and wait however long for a response. It took them two weeks to reply to my ticket, so I'm hoping for you it goes sooner since I know how frustrating it can be to feel like you aren't getting what you paid for.

Ive got multiple tickets sent in... the whiners on here get the attention however, while those of us who DO send in support tickets get told we wait... 2 days it took PGI to do something about changing colors on faction camos, but my money is in their pockets while they ignore me. What about people with playability issues, they send tickets in and get ignored while people complain on here and get things done. That is why I am all over the place complaining and whining about my money, so that they see that there are more important issues than changing colors, at least those people got their content
