Blastman:

RE: Falcon 4.0

Speaking from personal experience, it was easier to fly the real aircraft, than it was to learn the game. I transitioned from the F-4D in to the Block 0/5 Viper in 1983, with little difficulty.

Ralph, 429th TFS.

I was going to mention the falcon 4 manual but you got in forst

falcon 4 allied force is some 700 pages

The issue is not the competitive teams, they want to win.

The issue is the derps who like to troll the play2win crowd by not helping and then enjoy watching the other guys break their backs trying to carry their inept robots.

EDIT: Actually, neither of these are issues. Truthfully...this is closer:

3/3/3/3 does not work.

The matchmaker has lost elo, and he has not been found in quite some time.

Large premade groups must form by contrived rules that 2-3 smaller groups do not, giving a possibly large tonnage advantage to one side in spite of similar skill on both sides.

ECM.

Clan energy runs too hot, clan ballistics are terribad, and clan LRMs/SRMs are generally inferior to IS weapons

IS customization is OP, and all but energy weapons are outright better than the "superior" clans.

Light mechs. Clans do not really have any, and IS has some ridiculously good ones.

PP FLD + convergence.

LBX has no alternate mode.

CERPPC does splash damage.

Hit registration is borked.

No MASC yet...

Jump jets are mislabeled, as they are actually hover jets.

Aside from that, it is a great game though...

Lol at your post, seriously. Every popular clan mech is tier 1, and is far superior to IS. IS doesn't even have any teir 1 mechs, cry more. You're complaining while having the advantage, you won't even see a competitive team with IS mechs now that clans are released for Cbills. Direwhales, timberwolfs and stormcrows all day.

Putting the best robots behind a paywall is P2W. I'm sorry you can't understand this, but it is.

It's the whole definition of P2W. Imagine if in another shooter, the best armor and the best guns were behind a paywall for 6 months. People who paid for them would have a huge advantage. Just like in MWO.

nearly any roboot was behind a pay wall, now they aren't even more, so your statement is invalid. This has to do with primarily a sales strategy and is not primarly pay 2 win. further more, phracts were always a match, so stop saying somethign about o2w which is just plain wrong.

That being said, I don't think a MW game could really exist without the F2P model.

With all the kickstarted games in recent years, an actual MW game could be made, if a license holder were to kickstart on the premise of making a game based more closely on the originals and their feature sets (so it would have to be part of the decision process from the beginning). Looking at games like Shadowrun Returns or Wasteland 2, these are games that were kickstarted on the premise of bringing back older game mechanics for the modern era of gaming. They proved that it is still possible to make games based on a lost, better Era of Gaming, and people will gladly hand money over to make it happen. There are more examples than that though.

Good luck.
