If I don't have 4 mechs, can I bring a trial mech to fill out my drop deck?

Yes, Trail Mechs are suitable substitutes for your drop deck.

Good Luck!

Of course, you are putting yourself and your team at a disadvantage by using them since you can't ever get the most out of a trial mech. You should work on purchasing a mech for your drop deck ASAP.

They're usable but not really suitable as they're sub standard builds in most cases and don't include modules or consumables either. Can anyone stop you from dropping in them ... no.

You can see the griefing coming from miles away.

If one unit will grief to its teammate for using trial mech for untill it gets something better well screw that unit.
EDIT: Now when I think thats not Unit that bunch of random pugs under same tag.

Exactly. I presume most units look after their own but a solo player is literally a random factor. Some will be great, some awful. Its unlikely a trial mech character will be great put it that way. ;)

Only people in a group according to one of the posts will be people inside your own unit, rest will be random solo players queing for the CW queue (or other groups from single units?). I see the attraction from a solo players perspective as you can use anything but will they have the experience to dig deep and raise their game when they come up against a large dedicated group? Some absolutely will but others will get incredibly discouraged when they just get volleyed every time they drop as they won't have that common bond/tactics from shared comms.

You can add a Trial mech. Just make sure you know how to use it, otherwise it's fine! I've been playing this game since Closed Beta and I still don't have 4 of each module I need so we're pretty much in the same boat. If you think it's fun to participate go ahead. :)

While we do argue in the General Forums about helping players get their 4 Mastered/Moduled mechs sooner than later for CW, the rewards from Loyalty are really good (Mech Bays and MC) so I wouldn't hold off joining just because I don't have full modules and mastered mechs.

The rewards will be implemented early next year - https://static.mwome...ks_Rewards2.pdf

Honestly I would not worry about it. Folks who are hyper-competitive are going to be trying to put 12 mans together on a shared VoIP solution so you won't be grouped with them most of the time. The Champ mechs are also a lot more viable than the trials used to be--they aren't min-maxed, but if you are experienced with them they aren't that big of a handicap. And it's only 1/48 of the combined drop deck.

I expect for starters there will be a lot of solo players filling in CW teams. It's just something groups will need to adapt to. As a player I'd suggest just shadowing a group member in the same weight class as your current mech who is on comms.

I have unit mates that run a contest between each other with trails mech of who can get the most kills, damage, etc...

A good pilot will make you pay for thinking a trail mech is garbage

Paul failed to include Steiner on this document. He also failed to provide a feedback link.

I am not planning to grief by playing crappy mechs. I simply made the idiot move to master the Dire Wolf, (came out for cbills after I mastered my first mech and I wanted to play a clan mech) and have only purchased 3 IS mechs to play with in the mean time. I mastered the dire, but now I don't have the money (meaning the mech bays) to make a 4 mech drop deck for either the IS faction or the clan faction.

I refuse to sell my dire because it takes so long to get the money to buy it. so its either I get one trial mech for IS, or three trial mechs for clan.

From what I read on the forums, it sounded like CW was going to be postponed indefinitely. I didn't really plan for it.

Thank you for your replies. Good job being you everyone! Keep up the good work! :-)

To continue this discussion: http://mwomercs.com/...65#entry3921165

Play around with options in CW with trials! Lots of options here and likely a lot of us might end up using one or two to fill in a role.
