That being said...it is a lot more fun and engaging and complicated than the regular matches. I would play it all the time if the fps issue could be fixed somehow.

Depends on your play style. If you rush alone. Dead in seconds. If you push in unison, dead in minutes of hot steamy combat!

we dropped in a base to defend. within seconds the bases defenses were down and their 12 man of all "mad cats" walked through the gates they didn't even bother to shoot us the defenders they walked straight to the objective's and destroyed them. They all then ejected and regrouped in all stormcrows then walked straight to the middle of our base .. it was over in minutes...
I then queued to defend various planets .... I spent more than 15 minutes in ques... got tired of sitting there so I quit CW.
this is a prelude of what is to come... not fun.
This was my experience....

Well I'm hardly what you would call elite and at least for the first two mechs in my deck I didn't die in seconds. I was in fact, sadly and much to my surprised, the last to die. The one and only drop I had time for and it was a completely lopsided fight, Marik stomped us Wolf Clanners. So yeah, last night Clan mechs felt under-powered. And I have to seriously reconsider some of my builds.

Besides a poor matchmaking mechanic (i.e. none whatsoever), CW highlights the painfully obvious gap between premades and pugs.
After waiting an hour to get into a match, I finally dropped with fellow pugs against Lords.
They were defending and we were attacking.
No surprise how the match went. 12 random players pitted against 12 players on voice comms working together.
The result was an underwhelming bitter feeling towards CW as a small group/solo player.
Before the "get in a unit" replies stream in, I am in a unit of 4 people. But even if 4 drops with randoms or at the best 2 other 4-man units, we're still at a disadvantage against a 12 man unit.
So really what I take away from this is CW is geared only for units with 12 players or more. Anything less and you're just asking for disappointment city.
It's just too bad that CW turned out to be super exclusive and not something that the majority of MWO players could enjoy.
Imo it really should be called Premade Warfare, because that's the only way to actually enjoy this new game mode to it's fullest.
All told, CW is a great idea but poorly executed for all types of players and not just the large units.
Ah well. I guess it is what it is and small unit/solo players either accept it and queue or play something else.

And we won a defense vs clanners and lost an assault vs clanners.
Both games were some of the greatest MWO action i've ever been a part of.

What rubish.
So due to all of that im not playing cw now and may not be any time soon.
I think Russ said right up front that if a player breaks a contract..... the penalties would be very harsh for doing so. It sounds like that he wasn't BSing about that.

I don't feel bitter, it's a new thing and clearly there are some kinks to work out in it. That's part of being in a beta. Exposing it to the general population will hopefully help illuminate areas that need adjustment. And us players need to adjust as well, because we've got 2 new maps with new modes and there's going to be a bit of a learning curve to develop strategy. It's way too early to be discouraged because of a few bad experiences.

otherwise if you don't mind losing and you are here for roboaction, CW is still the most funny of all the current ways we can battle with mechs.
I disagree, just played a Defend match on Verthandi against Clan Wolf. They defenders were ALL solos by the look of the Unit tags and the Wolfies were at minimum three groups. The defenders won and all communication was through text or just plain old common sense.

If you cant play with the Big boys then I suggest you stay home...
And NO there is no Matchmaker...if Lords, SJR, or anyone else want to attack and you take the call that means you fight them. No sugar coating it or dancing around it, this has been stated numerous times by PGI and often referred to as HardCore Mode by the players.
Its all in the Command Chair post over the past few months...nothing new and working as intended!
So glad CW is here!

4 people is not a unit....Also, where, when and who told you this mode was for ANYONE other the 12 mans? I know you puggies can drop in but that doesn't mean its meant for PUG players. This mode is not designed for the casual units....30 min games are not made with the casual guy in mind nor are maps and bases that take extreme coordination and teamwork to take over.

CW seemed like the end of the era I enjoyed since I started playing.
After those two drops (attacking first, defending second) I enjoyed the openness of the maps, the ability to manoeuvre and at least on both sides be able to react to changes on the battlefield without feeling like I need to walk 5 minutes around a mountain or crater to get into the fight or change position.

While there will be some teething pains with bugs and some refinement, I feel like this is a great addition to MWO.
What we will need is a greater ammount of maps and a varied style of bases to defend.

The #1 thing that CW needs is VOIP. Prior to yesterday I would have put this further down the list, but after seeing CW in action I realize that VOIP is needed as soon as possible.

That wasn't my experience.
Attacking is, and likely will remain to be, rough. "Hard mode" for sure.
But the six or so CW matches I got into, even as the solo scrub I was for 2 of them, were not so horribly unbalanced or one-sided. The first drop, I was defending, with my unit, and it was kind of the best match I had ever been in, so far as "how I felt about my performance" and the level of action it entailed.
The second drop, defending again, did not do as well - attackers were starting to figure things out a little, I guess, or I was up against better players.
The first attack I did, was hilariously bad. The second we actually tried to have a plan, it went better. The third attack, with my unit (such as it is) we tried to take charge and had a much more even fight, but ended up losing to attrition in the end.
I think I went up against 2 full 12-man one-unit teams without it being all nub tears and gnashing of teeth from insta-gibs and smack talk.
Overall, despite various bugs and whatnot, the actual gameplay was wonderful. Very tactical, not at all easy for the attackers, lots of moving and repositioning and feinting and distractions and sudden charges and... yeah. It was freakin' Battletech and it was awesome.

but If you play defending / attacking is only you will p[robobly have groups on your team and enemy team.
Although I'm not having a lot of success getting a game right now (its low time), when I do it is very fun. Even getting stomped in my pug team vs a clan 10 man. All of my is games were much closer. Overall it is epic
