Mektek made like 20 useless mechs for MechWarrior 4, and MC2 had the same problem. Quantity is not the same as quality. I have a problem with wasting X amount of time building 5 useless mechs and stuffing it into a game that will never be used for the sake of saying "Oh look what we added, it's just like the text books, its 65 tons and has 1 AC 10, YaY!", or only used by some hard core BTech follower compared to 1 GREAT mech that has multiple uses.
Sooo here are what I would like to see personally:
-Cougar
-Wolfhound
-Commando
-Raven
-UrbanMech
-Uller
-Uziel
-Hunchback 2C
-Bushwacker
-Hollander
-ShadowCat
-Vulture
-Catapult
-Thor
-Loki
-Madcat
-Novacat
-Black Knight
-Thanatos
-Marauder
-MadCat Mk2
-Masakari
-Diashi
-Atlas
-Highlander
-Gladiator
That's 25 of some of the baddest mechs in my opinion, and each can fill a specific role or multiple roles for it's weight class.

Also, please DO NOT include the Hatchetman, Axman, Berserker, Scarabus, Mjolnir, Shiro or any other mech that wields a melee weapon UNLESS you can manage to get the mechanics figured out and work collision and melee damage into the game.
Thank you! Just my $0.02

That's Japenese anime. That's Japanese Battletech. It's not western Battletech or Mechwarrior. It looks cool, but it's not Mechwarrior as the western hemisphere knows it.
This is what Japanese Battletech artwork looks like...

Medium: Shadow Cat. Definitely my favourite medium 'Mech.
Black Hawk: It's a nice design with a lot of potential variations.
Heavy: Mad Cat. Duh.
Thor: Again, duh.
Assault: Daishi. I, along with several others I should imagine, love this assault 'Mech. The sheer power that exceeds that of even an Atlas. Plus, it looks good.
Mad Cat MKII: All time favourite assault 'Mech. Huge long range capability, along with good medium/close quarters firepower.

cougar
pack hunter
Scat (shadow cat)
Hunchback (one of the 2 innersphere mechs i like along with uziel)
Grizzly (god I loved this mech in mw2 ghostbears. sucked in mektek though)
maddog
Kodiak (assuming it doesn't get turned into a missile boat like in mektek)
yeah I like light and medium the most and mostly clan mechs... so we won't see them for a while. so I guess I will have to wait and see what happens.

When the clans arrive I'd also be thrilled with Ryoken (Stormcrow), Vulture (Mad Dog), Dasher (Fire moth), Loki (hellbringer), Behemoth (Stone rhino), Kraken (bane), Kodiak, and Blood Asp.

The Cameleon was pretty cool. Loved it in the original Battletech: Crescent Hawk's Inception PC game a long time ago.
It was a lighter mech with a Battlemaster head.
It was more anime-like in the instruction manual for that Crescent Hawk game...

Those are big-time icons for sure.
It's sad that the Archer and Crusader didn't get as much attention as the PPC-hauling mechs. The crusader is a decent mech that looks pretty good too for 3025.
2x LRM 15
2x SRM 6
2x Medium Laser
2x MG

Now don't go making another Japanese company mad. We already have Harmony Gold to blame for this almost decade-long wait for a new game
